Covill
I am not a Covill, I was researching this line for my previous boss, Doug Covill.
He is descended through the line of Elijah DeWitt Covill and Christian Roberts, through George Walter Covill b 08 May 1870. I could find no family research that had been done at that time, so started it. I have had contact via Eunice Covill Brady in the past and she has shared many pictures with me.

Sorry, I don't remember. That is a very sad cemetery. It was hit by vandals a few years ago and they broke stones and really tore up the place. The people of Hoisington tried as best they could to fix things, but lots of stones are unreadable.

Hi,

I've checked online for Rose Hill for the Bedell's.
Same plot area as Ophelia.

Bedell, Forris F - 1856/1934 - Blk A, Sec V, Lot 12, Gr 1
Bedell, Nellie M - 1856/1932 - Blk A, Sec V, Lot 12, Gr 2 - Mrs. F.F.
Bedell, Ray - 1887/1909 - Blk A, SEc V, Lot 12, Gr 3

Am guessing Ray is their child. Do you know? Will see what I can do next month for headstones and then add memorials for them.

I only added the memorials to Find A Grave because of there significance to my grandparents home and had seen those wonderful headstones for years when I visited the graves of some of my family buried there. Despite the years the headstones are in wonderful shape. I'm not related in anyway to the Sharp's.

Thanks for the info--thought that is where I would look first. Will let you know what I find next month. I believe there is another relative or two buried in the same cemetery. If you would like me to transfer the memorials to you, I would be more than happy to do so.

Just me again. I've attached Ophelia's father to her. One of us can request that Frances Find A Grave # 122419666 and Willie Find A Grave # 122419610 their mother be added to their memorial. What do you think?

Jo Ellen,

This is the link for the information below. I've attempted to contact Mr. Krueger but unable to send per e-mail address given. Most likely I will come back and edit at a later date to add to the Find a Grave memorial.

My grandfather's paternal 1st cousin married Edna T. Benjamin whose mother was a Sharp. In addition, William and Grace Sharp built a home in Clark, SD which my grandparents purchased in 1943 (second owners) and my son and his family live there today. I will be making a trip to Clark next month and hope to find a headstone for Theodore.

William A. Sharp Biography

Dakota" by Doane Robinson, Vol. II (1904) and was scanned,

WILLIAM A. SHARP, successfully established in the real-estate
business, in the city of Clark, Clark county, was born on the home farm
in Oldtown township, McLean county, Illinois, on the 21st of November,
1858. and is the son of Theodore and Ophelia M. (Watson) Sharp. Theodore Sharp was born in New Jersey on the 8th of October, 1820, and when eighteen years of age went to Chatam, that state, where he engaged with A. & W. C. Wheeler to learn the machinist's trade, becoming a skilled artisan in the line and also a successful inventor. He may be said to have inherited much mechanical ability, for as far back as records are in evidence the family have been allied with the machinist's trade and business. Christian Sharp, an uncle of Theodore, was the inventor of the Sharp rifle and was a manufacturer of firearms. John H. Sharp, an uncle of our subject, was likewise a machinist by vocation, and the same is true of Jacob Sharp, his son. Ancestors of Mr. Sharp were participants in the war of the Revolution and also in that with Mexico, but as the family records were unfortunately destroyed by fire no definite data is accessible at this time. Ophelia M. Sharp, the mother of the subject, was born in Glencoe, Columbia county, New York, on the 20th of April, 1832, and her marriage to Theodore Sharp was solemnized, in the city of Albany, that state, on the 31st of December, 1849. They became the parents of one son and three daughters, one of the latter being now
deceased.
