Berry is a major name among the Lumbee also.

Chief chad smith of the Federal cherokee descends from the Hildebrand family of Georgia also.

There was well over 225 cherokee in Carroll county ( next county from Douglas) in 1830

Last 2 colums was indian village.

You'll notice jesse smith as the last name.

Cherokee emigration records shows jesse smith among many others never left the area.

The Vann and Ridge name you seen in the 1830 census...those was chief vann and ridge's family.

There you will see the Cherokee Helton family was in Carroll county, Ga and they DNA tested as positive for Native American.

Hi, I seen you on the Hilderbrand grave site.
I'm trying to reunite all the families that would of been associated with the Sandtown village (Cherokee/Muscogee village by Carroll county, Ga) in Georgia. The Hilderbrands would of had some association with the Village.

Redbird Smith was born on July 19, 1850 near the current city of Fort Smith, Arkansas. His father was Pig Redbird Smith, whose surname "Smith" was given to him by European-Americans since his worked as a blacksmith. Redbird Smith's mother was Lizzie Hildebrand Smith. His parents were removed from Georgia to Indian Territory. Both his parents were ardent traditionalists, and at the age of ten, Redbird Smith's "father dedicated him to the services and cause of the Cherokee people in accordance with ancient customs and usages."
