Hello; John BRECKENRIDGE b.abt.1730 d.1811 Gartlosgan, Southend & Chiskan. John Brackenridge and +Janet Pickan m. at Southend, September 8, 1759 lived at Gartloskan Farm, South end Parish and later at Chiskan, Campbeltown Parish. John Brackenridge, farmer in Chiskan, died the year 1811 and his wife, Janet Pickan, died the year 1819. Sons, Andrew and Thomas Breckinridge erected a head stone in the Kilkerran Cemetery at Campbeltown in memory of their father and mother, John and Janet (Pickan) Breakenridge. Erected by Andr'w & Tho's Breckinridge in memory of their father John Breckinridge, Late Tenant in Chiskan who died the year 1811. Also their mother Janet Pickan who died the year 1819. Four of the children of John Breckinridge and Janet (Pickan) immigrated to United States while the rest remained in Kintyre. Three of these Breckenridge children settled in Washington County, Ohio and one settled in Virginia. Nearly 60 Breckenridge's of this branch immigrated to the United States and Canada from Southern Kintyre, Argyllshire, Scotland.
