I live and travel in a motorhome so I am not in one specific location. I try and take photos whenever I'm in a area and there are requests.

Mrs. Lowery does not have a marker, but I have pix of where she's buried...with her daughter-in-law, Velma Spearman Lowery, also unmarked next to her. I made Velma a memorial and will transfer her to you.

RE: Samuel Braxton
I am struggling at the moment with who Samuel Hiram Braxton married. I am sure it was Dora Padgett whose name is on the stone with him he 15624400, she 15620411. However, The 1930 census that seems to indicate her maiden name was Weeks daughter of John and Harriett E. Weeks. I think that is a mistake on the enumerator's part. I can find no proof. John Weeks married Doris McBride.I have searched the Orange County website, do you have any other ideas. There are birth records for children of Samuel Brxton and Dora Padget, That is the only proof I could find.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks very much, these are from "galvanized Yankees," my cousins who were confederates, got captured, went into IN and were "strongly encouraged" to join the Union army. They were Slatons down here, but like my family, adopted SLAYTON to avoid being called SLATTON (who also were mostly Union supporters). My own (confederate) ancestor had one bro CSA and three Union...Thanks again!
