Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in New Hampshire, though I grew up in Maine. Early on, the main focus of my cemetery visits was to find my ancestors, the majority of them in the seacoast area. While seeking out the graves of the volunteers from the 27th Maine, I then began photographing ALL Civil War veterans within the cemeteries I walked. Most of them are stored on Flickr (my profile). Now a member of the SUVCW, it's time to start registering these at the National Graves database.
Being the historian for NALF (National Association of Leavitt Families), I'm also looking for all Leavitt graves out there!

See you in the graveyards!

RE: Azro W. Mosher (1840-1910)
Hey! Thank you so much for searching Civil War records for me!!! And yes, his name was constantly being mispelled. I've seen Azro as Nazro, Ezra, Azo, Azzenno and A. W.
His father, Daniel (b.1806) was born and is buried in Old Yard Cem. aka Woodside Cem. in Belgrade, Maine. His grandfather, Daniel (b.1765) was also born in Belgrade. I haven't found his grave yet. The family was in Augusta on 1850 census. He married in 1867, probably in Illinois. They were in Meriden, LaSalle County, Illinois on 1870 census, then on to Iowa in 1880.
I did find a Lang Mosher's Civil War records as being from Meriden, LaSalle County, Illinois, the right location, but the spelling was nothing near Azro. So I'm not sure what state he was in during the war.
That's a good idea - I'll make a phone call to the American Legion in Clarion, Iowa. I've contacted a gal in Iowa to see if she can find an obit for him. Thanks for the advise!

Azro W. Mosher
Hey! I saw your interest in Civil War vets. I have a question for you, I recently discovered my gr.gr.grandfather's grave, Azro Mosher, 1840 - 1910, born in Maine, moved to Illinois sometime after the war, buried in Clarion, Iowa. I found his grave in Evergreen Cem. and there is a GAR star on it, however, I can't find any of his Civil War records. Do you have any favorite websites for searching civil war or the Grand Army?
Thank you!!!

Goodwin Family in Portland Cemetery
Hi, I see you claimed my Goodwin Family in the Portland Cemetery. I am sure that there are many there. I know I have only a few of them listed on the site. I will look forward to seeing if the date George and Cyrene died. I only had the year. I will try to add the rest of the family who are buried there tonight. Thanks for all your work. If it is easier for you to e-mail me just use my e-mail address.

Sedley Goodwin
Thank you so much for the photo of my great grand Uncle Sedley's grave. I was wondering if his wife's grave was near by her name is Letta E. Thompson Goodwin. I do not have her date of death or where she is buried. Thanks again. Living in Texas and not getting back home there, it is a blessing to have people like you take pictures for me.

RE: Frank Martin
Steve,
You are very welcome.
I thought it was too bad that Frank Martin's gravesite was not marked with flag or marker for the 27th Maine.
