THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY|
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust

You put in a request for pictures of Donald H. Larson's gravesite here in Portland, OR in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
He is interred next to his wife Winifred.
Could you do me a favor and add a request for pictures of her grave too?

I added a photo of the temporary marker, it will be six to eight weeks before the permanent marker has been installed. I will add a photo of the permanent marker when it has been installed and notify you.

|MrsB||Simonsen photos in Blair, Nebraska|
We took several photos of all the Simonsens buried in the Blair cemetery, and sent Edits for GPS to the managers. I will see if there are obituaries for these Simonsens on the Washington County Genealogical Website, and if there are (and they aren't already posted), I will send them to the managers who most likely will add them to the bios. If you are not familiar with the GPS, click on the links, wait for the Google Earth maps to load, switch to photo mode, and you can zoom in to see tiny tombstones and even "move" around the cemetery and nearby area.
Best wishes! (Click on the area captions to see the names on nearby tombstones).

His wife, Marion, has a photo posted of a double stone with husband's name as Roland.
Two obituaries, Mille Lacs County Times and Princeton Union Eagle, have the name as Ron. I changed his first name and listed Ron as a nickname. Let me know your opinion on that.
I don't know when I'll get to the cemetery, so I did not claim it. Maybe someone else will get to it before I do. The name difference might help in finding the stone.

Hi, hope to hear from you. Did you get my photos from the cemetery in Bergsjö Sweden?
Greetings from Maria Myhrer

No, I'm sorry, I didn't know about his wife Bessie. Charley Bennett was my great grandfather and I was almost 3 when he died. I know more about the family than my mom does except for her father's siblings and tiny bits and pieces from her memory from things her father said.
Right now I'm having difficulty locating Rev. Robert Kimbro's grave.
I would love to keep in touch. I am related to several different families in Gibson County, TN.

Yes. I've been to Center Cemetery because that's where my ancestors and other relatives are buried. I have a copy of the 1900 census that I found online of Richard Key and Eudosia Bennett and their children. I've been going through that list so I could link all the children to the parents and noticed that J. Sam's first name was more than likely James because of the James S. listed in the 1900 census. That's all really. Just wanted to share my reasoning behind my edit suggestion.
