Other Mattoon family members...
May I also have your permission to download/upload additional photos of Jonathan M. Mattoon's family?
It is so nice to come across those precious images of these distant family members!!
Again, thank you for your consideration.

aquilla chapman descendants
related to aquilla chapman line? I am in the 2nd wife's line in bourbon county, and we have been trying to locate her from bourbon county ks to NE where he died. any info on that late 2nd marriage?

are you related to this line? my G-G-G-G aunt married him late in life, just before she died. she was the first to move to KS and 4 of her nephews followed her here. we have not located a death record for Maria Hixson Kimbley Chapman and aren't sure if that was in NE (doesn't seem to be the case), on the way there from KS, or in KS. they married 1871 and he died 1874 widowed, so it is a narrow window. also, any info on the three grandchildren and aquilla who all died within about 3 months of each other? disease? and depending on when he arrived in NE from KS, was that brought to NE by him, and possibly then his 2nd wife died enroute?

Thank you for the photos of his family and his headstone. Would you happen to know when he passed away? Thank you again.
