Please do not ask me to add birth & death places to the headers of memorials that I have created if the info already appears in the memorial. Those fields are not searchable and there is no reason to duplicate the info. |
Same with transcriptions where the info already appears on the memorials via gravestone photos or in the bio section. Find A Grave Support has confirmed the transcription field should include things such as "Mother" "Rest in Peace", a poem, etc. It is not meant to include everything written on the stone. They also said "It is up to the originating member what they include as long as you make sure that the names, birth and death dates/years are included in the fields available on the memorial page".
Please use the "EDIT" and "SUGGEST A CORRECTION" button on the memorial to ask for transfers. Please show relationship on transfer requests. Thanks.
If you have a question, comment or info to be added to a specific memorial, please go to that memorial and suggest a correction. Thanks.

Find A Grave is not letting my edits go through to you. Please add this to Frank bio section when time allows.
Thanks so much for all you do. Much appreciation!
s/o Horace L. Howe & Sarah Ellis Howe Cilley.
(Information from: Lisa Hildreth Rhodes- Nathan Hale Cemetery Records. Frank is listed under Horace Howe.)
|ForgetMeNot||Frank (Frankie) Howe|
Lisa left a message indicating "Frankie" in Maplewood Cemetery (Fairfield, Me.) is probably the son of Horace L. Howe & Sarah Ellis Howe Cilley. Frankie's stone is practically unreadable. But the name Howe does stand out a bit. Since he is next to Florence (her birth parents are correct) we thought Howe was Sarah's maiden name was Howe, not another married name.
Will send you edits so you can easily correct our mistakes. (Oh the shame!)
Message sent about Frankie's parents:
RE: Cilley- Florence & Frank
I'm pretty sure baby Frank Lesley Howe is the son of Horace L. Howe & Sarah Ellis Howe Cilley's son. Frank is listed with Horace in the Nathan Hale Cem Collection

Thank you for taking time to respond. The stones are probably flat, therefore harder to find searching on foot with no lot numbers. Knowing other surnames in lot / plot area should be very helpful! Thanks again- hope you are feeling much better. :)
|Karen Harriman Nunan||Resthaven Cemetery/Windsor ME|
Find A Grave Memorial# 125096760 is for John Wesley Harriman. The gravestone is for him, his mother and another young sibling.
The husband and father is William Henry Harriman (my 2nd great grandfather) who died in Brockton, Massachusetts in 1910. His death certificate indicates that he was buried in Windsor, Maine. He is not listed in a search of Harriman's in Resthaven Cemetery. Can you give me any hints on how to find out if he is buried there?

|Dale Hansen||Purple Heart Entries|
A big thanks to you for all your contributions. I am a West Point graduate and am particularly interested in stones having the inscription PH or Purple Heart thereon, as that allows for registration of the individual on the Purple Heart Hall of Honor (www.thepurpleheart.com). This may be a much bigger task than I realize, but if you add photos of stones having that inscription, might you be able to notify me?
