I have been interested in genealogy for about nine years. I became interested when I found most of the research had already been done on my mother's side of the family going back for centuries. Until then, I had only speculated about my ancestry. I do some traveling with my job and as luck would have it, it is in an area where most of my relatives are buried (on Mom and Dad's side). When I am not too busy on the job I am out hanging out in cemeteries. It is so exciting to actually find the grave of some of the ancestors where I have only seen a name on paper. It validates their existence and a link to my heritage. I love to pass that along to someone else who may also be looking, but is just too far away. Famous ancestors in my tree are "Jack Daniels" 1st cousin 4 times removed as well as the Majors family "Tennessee Vols" and Robert Burns "the poet".
After finding my family cemetery, I joined with other descendants to restore our ancestors final resting place. My GGGGrandfather James B. Gowen is a veteran of the War of 1812. This cemetery is on, what used to his land. He planted a cedar tree and asked when he passed away to be buried under this tree. Some 70 years later he was. See www.gowencemetery.com | |

 | Hatfield Member in cemetery You took a picture of Delila (Mansfield) Hatfield gravestone in the Hatfield Cemetery (Sequatchie County, Tennessee).
My question has to do with come children that died young in life.
1. Clayton Hatfield 1891-1891 2. Robert Hatfield 1895-1895 3. William McKinley Hatfield 1899-1899 4. Sarah Jennie Hatfield (1884-1887)
Has you come across these children gravestone marker or known where there are resting in peace.
I know family is in Hatfield & Ranking Cemetery but I have not come across anything about these children.
Any information would be helpfully.
Thank you for your time in this.

 | Criswell Neal #14872172 Please correct the name on this memorial to Griswell Neal. If you look closely you will see it is a G and not a C. He was a relative of mine and would like the connection to be made in Ancestry.com. Thank you for all your listings. | | | Ginny Kindred

 | Mannon Mullins Hello Sylvia, my name is Kerry Powell Dunn. Mannon Mullins was my great-grandfather. His son Guy was my grandfather and Guys oldest daughter Mary Ella is my mother. I remember Aunt Maggie well. I don't know how much you know about Mannon, but he married sisters. His first wife was Lucinda Pierce, who I think was my papa's mother, as Guy died when I was only 13 and he was 75. I'm 52 now. Martha Caroline would have been his second wife. There is still a sister, Mattie Lou, living near Lynchburg, Tennessee. We have a family reunion every Labor Day weekend in Lynchburg. My e-mail address is dunn_ke493@att.net. I live in Shelbyville. | | | | [View all messages...] |
