Bio and Links
Bio Photo Busy tracing the Bassett/Wright connections in Michigan. Any information you may have regarding the Bassett name of Madison, Adrian, Dundee and surrounding areas and the Wright name from Azalia, MilanExeter etc would be welcomed. I do have the tree traced back to the 1600's on both sides, but need to fill in some gaps and add some supporting documentation...birth certificates, marriage records, death certificates etc. It was quite by chance that I wound up in Cass City, Mi in 1955. My parents had never even heard of the town when my father entered into a business venture with two other men from Detroit. They opened a branch in Cass City and my father came to manage it. Some time in the '60s my grandparents joined us there. My grandmother, who's maiden name was Wright, kept saying that there was a Wright family that looked like they could be relatives. Being that my grandmother was from SE Michigan, we did not pursue it. In 2012 I have finally found that many of my ancestors did, in fact, live in Cass City and that they are buried in the Elkland cemetery, my grandmother's final resting place. One of the ancestors was my grandmother's great uncle, Delos G. Wright and her father had been named after him. I was close friends with the GG granddaughter and didn't even know we were related. It really is a "small world". I am beginning to believe that we truly are all related in someway. So, maybe we should start treating each other better. By the way, feel free to copy and post any photo that I have taken."Do not go gentle into that good night....Rage, rage against the dying of the light"Dylan Thomas (Welsh poet)

Frederick Raible
Hi Sandra - Are there two Frederick Raibles at Glendale? You have two memorials for him, one with a photo (95776568) and one without (95776565). There is a photo request for 95776565 that I began to fulfill before realizing it may be a duplicate of 95776568. If there is only one Frederick Raible, can you remove 95776565? If not, I'll continue to search for another Frederick Raible at Glendale. Thanks!

James E. Cadmus
Hi Sandra,
I am not the owner of the original Cadmus page. I just came across the two of them while I was trying to link him to some of his family. I have put in edit requests to the owner for the links and his death info, but thought you would want to put in an edit request for your biography info as well.
Thanks for your quick response.

Elmer Elihu Wright
Hello,

According to the stone of Aaron Hillman Wright he died in 1861. One of his sons is listed as Elmer Elihu #13409903 at Azalia Cemetery. It states he was born in 1868 which would be wrong if he was Aaron's son. Maybe it is a typo.

Thank you for your help in this matter.

RE: John R and Mildred E Graham, Caro, MI
Hello!
If you go to their memorials, there's a button near the bottom of the photo section that says 'change photo order'. From there, you can select which photo is first, second, etc. You can only do this for memorials you currently maintain, but I looked & it says you maintain their memorials still. :)

My Great Grandma's maiden name was Gertrude Emily Johnson. We are from Tuscola County in the thumb. I've traced that family back to Lambton Shores, Canada, & Argyle, Scotland, so if your kids' relatives are from those places too, they may be relatives of mine as well!

Harriet Bassett
Hello again Sandra, I went back to the Crane Cemetery today and photo'd Harriet's grave but I see that it has been claimed and fulfilled so I added my pic to her memorial anyway.

Cemetery walk
Hello, I want to organize a "Ridgeway Rambles" cemetery walk for Ridgeway for next Sep/or Oct. I'm not sure if you are near Ridgeway. Would you at all be interested in taking part in this by representing one of your ancestors buried there? I want to give first dibs to family members. This would involve "being" that person for tours coming through the cemetery. Please let me know, I welcome any ideas. Please respond back to me at heritagegirl70@gmail.com with cemetery walk in the subject line. And please remind me in the email which one your relative is. Thanks!

DeLong Family
Sandra,
I've added some memorials and links to several memorials you may find interesting. If you look at Berniece (DeLong) Waun's memorial and click on either of her parents' names, you'll see links to her sisters and brothers, except for her brother Floyd Gordon DeLong. I've submitted a request for edit to add his name as well. You probably already know about the links to all her grandparents on her parent's memorial.

Bassetts in Crane Cemetery.
Hello Sandra, I went to Crane cemetery today and found the Bassett plot of 5 grave stones. There is a George A, the rest was illegible, The next stone was Harriet E. wife of Ebenezer whose stone has a wife, Deborah on it, Next was Nehemiah and the last one was Mary, wife of Nehemiah. I think I skipped one stone while taking the pics but I go by there often and I will return and see who I missed. This is a very old cemetery with a lot of broken, missing and worn down markers but it's in a beautiful place and is well maintained
