Busy tracing the Bassett/Wright connections in Michigan. Any information you may have regarding the Bassett name of Madison, Adrian, Dundee and surrounding areas and the Wright name from Azalia, Milan Exeter etc would be welcomed. I do have the tree traced back to the 1600's on both sides, but need to fill in some gaps and add some supporting documentation...birth certificates, marriage records, death certificates etc.
It was quite by chance that I wound up in Cass City, Mi in 1955. My parents had never even heard of the town when my father entered into a business venture with two other men from Detroit. They opened a branch in Cass City and my father came to manage it. Some time in the '60s my grandparents joined us there. My grandmother kept saying that there was a "Wright" family that looked like they could be relatives. We did not pursue it. In 2012 I have finally found that many of my ancestors did, in fact, live in Cass City and that they are buried in the Elkland cemetery, my grandmother's final resting place. One of the ancestors was my grandmother's great uncle, Delos G. Wright and her father had been named after him. It really is a "small world". I am beginning to believe that we truly are all related. So, maybe we should start treating each other better. By the way, feel free to copy and post any photo that I have taken.

 | Re: Bassets Greetings Sandra, you're welcome for the transfer, but I'm a little confused by some of your genealogy. It appears that Ebenezer is your GG-grandfather not three Greats. Also isn't Harriet McNair Bassett your GG-grandmother not Deborah Hagaman? The lineage seems to be Robert (your father), Paul, Albert (Harriet's son), and Ebenezer. I will probably just transfer all of the Bassetts that I have so you can add info. Also, if you are ever in the Crane Cemetery for photos, will you please look for any Cranes? I will do a photo request if you are travelling there. thanx, John | | | Vita Brevis

 | RE: Bassetts I know it. I have about 20+ saved for better weather. Also, the ground is getting saturated. I like looking in the small old cemeteries the best though. We found one a few years ago near Brooklyn MI where there was a man's grave flanked by his 5 wives all died after about 3 years of marriage. My wife said that number 5 had to be pretty brave ! | | | dan wiederhold
 | Bassetts Hello Sandra, I've driven by this cemetery many times but never stopped to look around. I look for graves of Civil War Veterans so their final resting place can be recorded. We are having a pretty bad day with the wind and rain but when it gets better my wife and I will go up there and search for your people unless someone else claims them first. I hope this nasty stuff ends in the next few days so we can follow up on your request. Dan. | | | Grace Younglove Hudson
 | RE: Wendhausen Hello Sandra: They are not relatives of mine. I am sorry that I duplicated your memorials. I did not see your memorials when I made these. I will transfer all three to you right away. Sorry about that. Thanks.
