 | Watauga County Cemetery Hi,
We are trying to get all the cemeteries in Watauga listed and photographed. You are the only one that has taken a photo in Clark's Creek, could you possibly give me any location information. Thanks.

 | Laurel Creek Cemetery I noticed you recently took a photograph at Laurel Creek Cemetery. I am interested in photographing the remainder of the tombstones there and would appreciate any directions to the cemetery that you might be willing to share. Many thanks. | | | tommy b

 | Pete Hill Nick,
There has been considerable research into Pete Hill since his enshrinement in the Hall, so much that his plaque was rededicated last year. They had his first name incorrect, they had his date and place of birth incorrect, and they had his death date wrong.
This has since been rectified by researchers from the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR).
First, Pete's first name was John, not Joseph; this was confirmed by passenger lists, census records, and his WW1 draft registration.
We're not absolutely certain of his birth year, but it was much more likely to have been 1882 than 1880, based on same documents.
A SABR member found Pete's death certificate, which shows he died on the 19th of December 1951, in Buffalo, NY.
Finally, acting upon information from the death certificate that said that Hill's body was shipped to Chicago for burial, a SABR member found him. He is buried in an unmarked grave at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago): Grave 3, Lot 20, Block 10, Section 35. He was buried on December 28, 1951, after his body was received.

And Adam is correct. The second photo (with "Hilldale Giants" across the chest) is Hall of Famer Biz Mackey. | | | Adam Penale

 | Pete Hill Yes Hello, the memorial you created for Pete Hill appears to have the wrong picture. The picture you added is that of Biz Mackey. | | | John "J-Cat" Griffith
 | Arnold Skaaland burial info Hello Nick, in regards to Wrestler Arnold "Golden Boy" Skaaland burial info, he is not interred at Sacred Heart Church, at 10 Lawton Avenue, Hartsdale, NY. I called there at number (914) 949-0028 and was told there is no cemetery on the church grounds and they know nothing about Skaaland? I will check further to see if he may be inteered at another area cemetry. Thank you for your concern in this matter complete the burial info for his famous entry on Find a grave. Best always, John | | |
