Grandpa Jack's Given name was Orphal, his father Blish gave him that name because he knew a little boy with that name and liked the name. Not being on the tombstone people looking on ancestry.com will have problems finding him. Thank you for adding that info!!!! Patty Freed

Maurice & Sarah Byrn family
Hi Larry,
Would you please remove the sentence about there being 5 sons in our family and one dying at birth. There was only 4 sons and all are living.
Maybe you were thinking of Ada who lost a son at birth but Mom never did.
Thanks,
Sheila

RE: DeVore's
I meant to get back to you sooner. Unfortunately I know nothing about the DeVore line. There is a DeVore Angus Farms not far from Glendale, I can't quite remember if it in Glendale, Sonora, or Upton. I've a couple of trips planned in the area this spring.

I've added Aaron Richardson as a child of John Henry and Manerva, I didn't have a picture of his headstone and its in Calvary Cemetery (Louisville) which is rather large and a good ways from where I live. I think Lemuel died in Springfield Illinois in 1967, I don't know the cemetery. I've not been able to find anything out about William Eli, the last evidence I have of him is the 1900 census.

The third Sunday in May there is a homecoming of sorts at the UMC in Summit (its part of Eastview now). The UMC there was founded by brothers Jackson and Thomas Richardson in 1878, descendants of both (and Isreal Jr. also) come to decorate graves and meet distant relatives. Its not far from Glendale. If you follow the links at find-a-grave up to Jackson, the map for the Richardson-Wooldrige cemetery is as good as a map for the UMC, its about 150 yards away.

RE: DeVore's
I've transferred Joseph Crandon, Etta, and Frank Edward to you. Their burial location is a bit of a puzzle, census sheets show them living in Louisville in 1910, 1920 and 1930. Frank Edward died in Colesburg (in Hardin County, Ky) at age 13 from an accidental gunshot, Glendale is maybe 15 miles Southwest of Colesburg. Etta's childhood home would have been about 12 miles west of Glendale.

I have a photo of Etta's Grandmother Matilda, I'll send you a scan.

Do you know much about Etta's lineage?
