|Sheila Kell||RE: Joseph Merten|
Donna, I would be happy to - I don't believe I have your e mail address though.
Mine is Kfurballkell@aol.com
|Sheila Kell||Joseph Merten|
I am working on a family who lived in Jennings County Indiana, There is a newspaper article about Joseph Merten who was a son of a Joseph Merten who moved to Nevada about 1875 in our local newspaper archives. They went with a number of other German immigrants, this younger Joseph died shortly after returning here to Jennings County to find a bride. Some of the family names involved are Gooding, Hess, Deringer & Ditlinger.
The younger Joseph was a brother to Margaret Merten who was married to John Gooding.

In reference to the place of birth in 1820:
You suggested France, but census records say both Maine and Missouri. Knowing census records are only as good as the recorder and then translator, can you shed any further light as to the validity of a French birth? Thanks.
Having taken 20,000 pictures of Calvary, I need volunteers to help me put the pictures on Findagrave. If you can help, email@example.com thanks Bill

You're welcome. It was my pleasure.

On the Internment.net site she's listed as

Sec 3, Row 3, Plot 4, south Side, Flat Headstone.
I noticed NONE of the Sisters have photos of their graves. Do you know if there are restrictions? I don't know where Cemetery is but I'll do my best to find it.
If not, I'll take a picture for you, but I won't promise you when that will be. Depends on the weather. I'm not that far from West Linn.
