Bailey D Brackett Memorial# 42722983
There seems to be an error in the death date. All the information I've found indicates he died after March of 1891; some family trees showing the date of 29 Feb 1892. Could you please tell me where you got the death date listed on the memorial? Thanks in advance.

RE: Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Claypool, IN
Mr. Reece, while it has taken me a couple years to accomplish, with your help and that of Patten Memorials (Warsaw), I did locate the proper people to question.
And just this year (2015) had a grave marker installed to mark our plot (#83). The head name is SHARP, with a notation "Daughter of W.V. & Ruth Valentine"
Thank you. I feel more assured that this is where I will eventually "Rest In Peace"

Sarah Steffy Noel
Hi, I sent an edit message with some of what I've discovered about Sarah's parents and family. Although her Steffy's don't seem to be related to my Knox Co., IN line, since her grandfather Jacob Steffy was born abt.1790, in Germany, and came to America after 1805, while my ancestor, and the Knox Co., IN line's, was a Johann Ulrich Steffy, b.1710 Canton Berne, Switzerland, who came over ca.1740,
my main reason for not choosing to take over management of the
site for Sarah is the fact that I just don't have enough access to any
Kosciusko Co., IN material here in Bloomington IN, other than some
books of Kosciusko cemetery records and censuses, to do more on
the family without having to order microfilm from the LDS. I will try
sending some more of what I've been able to discover about Sarah's
siblings later. Perhaps someone more closely related to this line in
the Kosciusko Co. area will be persuaded to research the family.

Nancy McGinley
Thank you very much for the valuable services you provide.

Mrs Nancy McGinley (1820-1897) is buried in Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Claypool. Her maiden name was Magner and she was the daughter of Samuel Magner and Catherine Wood Magner both of whom are also buried in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

Magner is a relatively unusual surname and often misread in records as Wagner

B. J. Bigelow, Claypool, IN
I have a question about the B.J. Bigelow 1880 in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Claypool, IN. I am familiar with a Dr. Benjamin Franklin Bigelow who was born in 1842 in Warpole, MA and Died in June 1879 in Claypool, IN. Is there any possibility that the Bigelow that you list be the same?

John Banta (1805-1864)
Dear Mr Reece. I am detailing the "descendants of John Banta" as a follow-up study to the book I wrote about Henry Banta (1841-1921) who served in the Civil War and kept a diary. Today I have learned that you are a descendant of Henry's sister malinda, who married Joseph Myers, and gave birth to Mary Isabelle Myers, who married Aaron Cory, and gave birth in 1878 to Angie Pearl Cory who married Frank Alonzo Reece, who I surmise was your grand-father who died in 1927. I would like to have this study contain as much detail as possible without identifying, without their permission, living people. May I ask you to contact me at so I can ask a couple of question about your parents (may they rest in peace) and provide you a copy of Lincoln's Hammer, the book about Henry Banta, on CD? The Univ of Virginia Press is publishing it next year, but without most of the 135 illustrations so I have generated a version as a pdf that includes all of the pictures I found that illustrate Henry's journey as a civil war soldier. BTW - I'm in Fresno, California, where Henry and two of his brothers Fred and Isaac lived for a while in the late 19th c. Henry is buried here.

Keplinger Photos
Monte, I was wondering if you ever get up to the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, in Claypool, Kosciusko County, Indiana? If you do, is there any chance I could have you take photos of the 11 Keplinger's in the cemetery? I am trying to locate relatives, and headstones would help me out tremendously. I appreciate your many contributions to Find A Grave! Thanks for your time. - Debbie
