Bio and Links
Bio Photo I truly love cemeteries and researching family histories. If update is a family member, please let me know at time of request and I will be happy to transfer.

If interested in a transfer...please follow the instructions from Find A Grave and use the edit key on the site. I will not make corrections/additions if edit key is not used. By using the edit key I will have all the info I need to make the transfer. I'm happy to transfer family but you must state your relationship or I will not transfer. Please feel free to use any headstone pictures I have added.

Recently someone contacted me asking that I delete my entry as they had just entered a duplicate and liked theirs better...please don't do this. Nor collect people with the same name, this is not accepted by Find A Grave. As I said before, I am happy to transfer immediate family.

Family names I'm researching are Ashworth, Brasher, Learned/Larned, McCrady, Carpenter and Ziebarth/Cibart.

RE: James Thompson
I'm chuckling at that one,I just copied and typed what I found!I would just add it and leave his name as is until something else comes along.
Oh,apparently his wife was Harriet Armine Saltzman, her first husband was William Byrd.William and Harriet have a young daughter buried in Burnt Ranch cemetery, with a headstone!

I found his obituary !! It was in The Dalles times-Mountainer (The Dalles Or.)March 05 ,1892.
I'll add it to his memorial as soon as I get it typed up.
I'm happy,

Thanks for the link to the F-A-G memorials in Burnt Ranch cemetery.I have looked at those, there should be a cemetery survey from earlier though.Maybe a historical society? From what I have read, there were people buried there near the river crossing from the 1860's on,but the cemetery was not founded until after my Mr. Saltzman died.I am not questioning the actual cemetery,I know now that it exists.Do you happen to know how close it is to the old stage station?
I have to say I am getting quite an education, eastern Oregon is fascinating.I am from Oregon, but I didn't know the history very well.I was documenting a different family and found their youngest son boarding with the Saltzman's in the 1880 census. The rest is history,as they say !

Hi --
Sticking my nose into your converstaion with SDT. Here is what I sent to her:

William Saltzman/Stutzman
Hi --

I'm sticking my nose into your conversation with Suzanna Ashworth. I am going to send her this same message, since I know of no way to send to two persons at the same time.

William J Saltzman and wife Bercia, plus children Harriet, Addie, Mary & Jay are in Wasco Co., OR (East of Deschutes River) in 1870. William was born in Indiana, Bercia born in Wisconsin.

In 1880, William & Bercia, plus 3 of their children, Addie, Alice & Jay are still in Wasco Co.

I could find nothing in Oregon (there's pne in Pennsylvania) for William Stutzman.

Hope this helps,
Darlene

You certainly have an interesting solution! I'll have to think this over.Nothing in the historical documents about the Saltzman's mentions a Burnt Ranch cemetery, just that he and his son were buried on the ranch that they owned, that's where I went wrong. If I delete mine then none of his Saltzman family will be connected,so lots to think about.
Thank you for your thoughts.
