Ralph Doak
The Doak families
You might care to note the following:
William Doak, son of David (1710-87), was not married to Ann Stuart - nor to any other Ann
His wife's name was Elisabeth
John Doak and Mary Foster did not have a son named William - with or without a middle name beginning with H
They had one son, John F Doak, and one daughter only

The Madison Co, TN, Thomas & William Doke on the 1830 & 1840 censuses look like brothers to me - but I'm not yet sure of that, or to which branch, if any, of the Doak tree from which I descend they should be assigned

Just check the Wythe Co, VA, Deed Books (1790-1810) and the probate records for the estate of Roddy Doak ..... and do try to be less pretentious and more conscientious in future

Rodney -
Do you have any info on 'Rebecca Alexander' wife of General DeCalb O'Neal.
Rebecca is listed in the 1880 census, but in the 1900 census DeCalb is listed as a widow, with daughters Mary Masselet & Rebecca living with him.
Would love to get them all linked.
Thanks for your help.
