Hi and welcome!|
I have been researching my family history for over 20 years starting with a half-brother I never knew about until the age of 15. It took me almost 22 years to find him and as a result I started my research of the Colby's.
My father was a traveling salesman from Bow, Merrimack, New Hampshire and my mother was a universal winder from Valley Falls, Providence, Rhode Island.
I come from a large family consisting of: 1 half-brother, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. 26 nieces & nephews and 19 grand nieces and nephews...so far. So just my own family is a history in itself!
I hope some of my research also helps you with your research. I have an extensive website called ~The Colby Connection~ just click on the link below.

I saw your notes on the findagrave site for
Richard Earl Colby. His father was Edmund
Edgar Colby, my grandfather's brother (George
Ned Colby) Would like to hear back from you
on some questions I have re: Enos Colby.
Edmund Edgar Colby was b. 30 Dec 1887
d. 25 Dec 1957 bu: Pleasant View Cemetery,
Morrisville, Vt. He m. Christie (Taft) Bohannan on 17 Sep 1919 and they divorced 15 Mar 1953.
Have that Christie m. John Orville Bohannan.
Assume they divorced? Children: Enos Eduard b. 22 Jan 1914, Marjorie Gertrude b. 11 May 1910 and Dorothy Isabella b. 18 Jul 1911 and d. 24 Aug 1911. I wonder how the children came about having the last name of COLBY. Were they adopted?

RE:Celia (Leighton) Colby b. 15 Jun 1843 in Hyde Park, Vermont. Died abt. 1929 in Silverlake.Son Warren Leighton b. 03 Aug 1872 in Praire View, Minnesota. Nellie W is Warren's wife. Surname unknown, b. about 1875 in North Carolina.
I just was given a copy of the interment at the Silverdale Pioneer cemetery.(I have been trying for 20 years to get it from the lady who had it). My Boy Scout troop takes care of the cemetery as part of a deal made in 1929. A man left his estate to the community and they gave it to the Boy Scouts to build a meeting hall and in return we would take care of the cemetery. (buildings is still there and is on the National historical register)
Here is some info off the list for you: Celia Colby Leighton Born Jun 15 1843 Died April 10 1921 Silverdale, Kitsap County, WA
Nellie Colby(Tolles) Born May 3 1873 North Carolina Died Nov 4, 1931 Kitsap County, Washington
Do you have the Death date for Warren Colby? It is blank on my list.
