Bio and Links
Bio Photo Interested in genealogy since 1980, I became officially addicted in 1989 and in 1994 I became WebMaster of Tracking Your Roots, taking my addiction online! LOL Over time, I published over two dozen genealogy reference books for Alabama, largely for Covington County where my father's family is from. Mother's family is from north Alabama, so I traverse the state! :)

A descendant of Thomas Franklin of Covington Co., AL, I am also now administrator of the Franklin YDNA Project. Thomas is a YDNA confirmed member of the FY2 group. You can view all the proven Franklin lines related to me here and you can view the project website at:
Franklin Genetics

An avid history and cemetery buff, I always carry a digital camera on the many road trips I take annually and do stop at a number of roadside cemeteries, (I prefer 'taking the back roads') many of which have no known personal connection to me, other than my interest in preserving history. Thus I often will take photographs, focusing especially on those worn and broken markers that may soon be gone to us forever without the efforts of volunteers to preserve them. My kudos to this site!

Please take both full marker and detail close-up shots of older, worn markers as well as plot overview photos! Many may never been seen again after you leave, as they are quickly disappearing. A family may have no other photo, and may not even know that one existed, if you pass it by.

If I have created a page for your family member that you would like to edit/own, please do a 'correction suggestion' asking for transfer of ownership and I am happy to do so for any who are not my own relatives, which the majority are not. Priority goes to those sponsoring a memorial page. :)

I have recently taken on managing memorials formerly managed by MB (Maribeth Buce), so if you see a page I maintain that was originally entered by Maribeth, please do not hesitate to request a transfer (as a correction suggestion as noted above), as these are not my relatives, but rather my way of helping findagrave keep from having unnecessary duplicates sometimes created when folks don't get replies from members they are unaware have passed on themselves. May Maribeth rest in peace knowing she has helped others find their family members by her memorials.

Finally, if i transfer a memorial to you please DO NOT transfer it back to me. As I do not have time to seek documentation for information added and am unable to answer questions others may pose about what you added, I do not wish to have anything transferred back to me. Thank you.
