I know you don't have a memorial for him but I thought he might be some of yours...
Unknown Newspaper, Unknown Date
Marion Rowden, a well known farmer and citizen of Asotin County, died at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston Monday night, death resulting from appendicitis, for which he was operated on Thursday previous to his death. He had been bothered with the trouble for some time, but waited too long before consenting to an operation. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Van Slyke conducting the service. The funeral ceremonies were in charge of the local lodge of the
United Artisans, of which lodge he had been a member several years.
Francis Marion Rowden was born near Springfield, Mo., Dec. 1, 1876, and lived in that locality until grown, when he moved to Stroud, Oklahoma, where he resided until March 1901, when he came to the northwest, locating at Asotin. On September 8, 1904, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Swain, and has lived in and near Asotin ever since.
He was a hard working and industrious young man, and a year or two ago had entered upon farming on a large scale and was making a success of it. He had the respect and confidence of all who knew him and was honorable in all transactions between himself and his fellow man. All regret his passing away at such an early age.
Besides a wife, the deceased leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Rowden, residents of the Lapwal country; two brothers, Elmer Rowden of Hawkeye, MO., and George Rowden of Lewiston; six sisters, Mr. W.C. Boyd of Spokane; Mrs. James Goff of Winchester; Mrs. Carrol Stephens and Mrs. James Hardin of Lewiston; Mrs. Lewis Tidwell, of Scotia, Wash, and Mrs. R.R. Crum of Homefield, Idaho.
The sorrowing wife desires to express her sincere thanks to friends and neighbors for the various acts of kindness rendered throughout her great bereavement, and for the beautiful flowers and condolences.
