I started looking on the internet for my
GG-grandfather James Eagle.
He was a full-blooded Cherokee Indian and
I believe he was born in Hancock County,Tennessee. He married my GG-grandmother Nancy Johnson. James was married to Cora Grubb and had one son named Clarence before marrying Nancy. He later divorced Cora for unknown reasons. After his marriage to Nancy Johnson they had three girls: Ethel,Corie, and Dovey. Dovey died a few days after birth.
Ethel Eagle is my Great-Grandmother.
She married Lee Williams when she was around 14 years old and over many years they had six children:Mary LouTrena,Velve Lee,James"Olen",
Ruby Mae,Carl Everett, and Earl Odie Williams.
After GG-granfather James Eagle died,
Nancy married Sam Williams(her daughter Ethel's husband's brother)and they had a son named
Elmer Williams. *James,Nancy,Ethel,Lee and their children lived in Sneedville,Tennessee in a place that everyone calls "Snake Hollow".
Eventually, they all moved to Tazewell,Tennessee several miles away.

My great-aunt Mary Williams told me that she thinks that James Eagle and his daughter Dovey are buried somewhere in Rutledge,Tennessee.
James Eagle's sister Nancy married ___Stapleton and they had one son that I know of.
The Eagle & Stapleton farms connected somewhere in Big Sycamore. There is a graveyard near a church that may be where they're buried.
The Eagles had a grist mill so a creek would have ran through their property. (Still searching for the old family land.)
Some of the other relatives are buried in the Gollihon Cemetery in Sneedville,Tennessee.

If anyone has heard of James "JIM" Eagle please let me know. Thanks to all that offer their help.
