I suppose my endearment to cemeteries began with visiting the local cemetery with my great-grandmother, Eva, so she could go to the graves of her husband and other loved ones. She and my mother have always been faithful to visit and make beautiful the graves of the family.
My grandmother was 72 when I was born, and was in her 80s by the time I was old enough to appreciate the stories of her childhood and her family history. With her already in her 80s, many of her family and friends had already passed on. Visits to cemeteries (including a trip to Roann, Indiana with my mom and grandma, where my grandma's mother and father - my great-great grandparents - are buried) and stories of loved ones only encouraged my interest.
I also found that a cemetery is a peaceful place where I can re-focus and re-gain my perspective on life...and remember what is really important.
My great-grandmother herself went Home to be with the Lord in 1995. Now her grave is one that I visit...but I know that, thanks only to Jesus, the grave has been conquered once and for all, and we will see her again. | |

Hi Kristan,
I am glad to try to help out. Just sorry I could not find it for you. Is there a way for you to find out from the courthouse the location? Some of the stones were hard to read, but if I know a location, I could go back and look again. If I can help anymore, please let me know.
