I love genealogy my only wish is that my husband of 40+ years had the same interest so that we could do this together. Second to that my daughter, Jana has picked up the interest and whenever possible she and I both work together, which is very rewarding. The old saying "two heads are better than one" is definately true. In Feb.2012 my husband had a stroke and with the care for him my time is limited for genealogy and entering memorials on findagrave. I still love finding time here and there to play around on the site. It is so rewarding to find a memorial of an ancestor, still finding new ones often, last one was as recent as 10/15/2013. As more members join and more memorials are entered I'm sure the rewards will continue...thanks to those who submit and manage memorials w/o you this site wouldn't grow. |
This is a wonderful site for honoring passed loved ones. Hats off to the one who thought of this idea. Thank you for your hard work as well.
ANY MEMORIALS I HAVE CONTRIBUTED MAY BE COPIED AND USED FOR GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH OR PERSONAL USE ON FAMILY TREES, ANCESTRY.COM ACCOUNTS AND OR FAMILY NEWSLETTERS, ETC. WITHOUT SHARING WHERE WOULD GENEALOGY RESEARCH BE? IF THERE IS A MEMORIAL THAT I HAVE SUBMITTED THAT IS A LOVED ONE OF YOURS, ASK AND IF THEY ARE NOT CLOSELY RELATED TO ME I WILL BE GLAD TO TRANSFER. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT IT MAY BE WRITTEN IN STONE BUT STILL BE WRONG AND SHOULD BE USED ONLY AS A GUIDE FOR YOUR RESEARCH. IF YOU USE MY NOTES, PLEASE GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE, I DO.

I found U! Ur email to me did not show Ur email address. So I went to memorial #10299322 and found U!
No, I am not related to John Gaddis Winston. Thanks for the nice compliments about the info I put on the online graves. U put good ancestor info, too.
Just a bit confused so I will need to read Ur message a few more times to understand completely. Please be patient.
I can transfer a memorial to U. Which one do U want me to transfer so U can make the necessary corrections.
Ur Find A Grave friend, Sherry
Thanks for your help. I will keep looking.

you are so welcome! I messaged the same person to let me manage my 3rd great grandpa, but now I can't find his wife.

hi. someone transferred management of your ancestor to me by accident. so I transferred her over to you. I was sent a transfer to my ancestor and one I didn't recognize, so I looked at the messages of who was asking for Barbara and I saw your post, so I sent it to you.

It was great to find your posts this morning and I've added your research to the memorials. I really appreciate your efforts; my wife has relatives there and some acquaintances. I noted there were less than 1,000 on find a grave and made an effort to add those not already on. My situation is similar to yours, my wife wasn't interested in genealogy and now has Alzheimers, so I'm limited. That makes being able to update special and gives me a sense of accomplishment, and I thank you for it. My grandparents came to Texas from Tennesee; she was a Brownlow and haven't been able to find her parents. Others have traced the Smiths back 6 generations. I have a grand-daughter who is very interested and I benefit from her ability to search. So good to hear from & of you, keep up the good work!
