Clifton Callahan connection
Hi, I am doing some research for a friend and have made a connection with Alvin Ridley Callahan who is the son of Clifton Callahan and Sarah Tennessee Sutton. I believe it is the same family you have with Clifton and Sarah, however, this Clifton on all of the census records and Civil War records was born 1842-1846 and the Clifton you have married to Sarah Tennessee Sutton is born 1883 with your Sarah born the same as mine in 1846. I saw the DOB engraved on the headstone for Clifton but I am wondering if that is accurate or even if this is another Clifton especially since I have Clifton and Sarah's 1st child, William R, born in 1864. Can you give me any insight and maybe direction? Thank you so much, Linda Sanders Hawkins (nanalin5@hotmail.com)

RE: Callahan's
Thank you for all you have done. Especially for your work with Find a Grave for the Callahan's.

Maybe I'll have DNA information to show the relationship between Joshua and Edward in the next few weeks.

Callahan's
Hi, It's been quite a while since I have contacted you. I have learned a lot about research since I began four years ago.
First let me say that I have not been able to find Joshua John Callahan Jr.'s gravesite. I have located and visited the homestead acreage in Yell county and Callahan Gap.
I had first made contact with you from "Find a Grave" while researching Joshua John Callahan, Sr.
You were most helpful, and I was and am most grateful.
I am almost ready to begin compiling a Callahan Family Book, but I need documentation to prove the relationship between Joshua John Callahan,Sr and Edward Callahan. The relationship has been questioned, and I find that I don't have the answers. Can you help?
My brother is taking a DNA test, and I hope to find some answers through the test.
Thank You for all that you have done, Bert Taylor

infant Calahan
Hi Delores;
I have visited the graves of the Calahans at Pettusville. I photographed the headstones of Monroe, Mary, and their five children that are buried there. Robert W b 6 Oct 1896 d 1 Nov 1897 and four infants 1898, 1901, 1906, and 1912.
I am hoping that you know where Monroe's brother Leman and his wife, Lena are buried as Lena(Lenora Nave) was my grandaunt.
If you want me to send the pictures that I have, let me know. They are a little more legible than the ones already on find a grave. Also there were 3 fieldstone grave markers very near the Calahans, one of which appeared to be for Thomas Jefferson Calahan as it was beside Phebe.
good luck

Callahan or Calahan Family
I am looking for information for a Samuel Callahan who resided in Overton Co TN prior to 1850. His widow Eleanor and children (Wiley, William, John, Charles, Nathan and Hugh). I am most interested in Hugh, as I have him listed as the husband of Jane Testament, but no record of them together in a census. One of my dead ends that I keep coming back to. If you can shed any light on these people, I'd be so grateful. I have some info on all of the other sons, all 5 of whom fought for the CSA in the Civil War.
Thank you for any help,

RE: Callahan Memorials
No, I'm no relation to the Callahans. I do cemetery census work for TNGenWeb and then post the results here as well. If you would like, I can transfer management of their memorials to you. I'd need your F-A-G member # and the names of those folks you'd like transferred.
