Bio and Links
Bio Photo After moving around the country for 38 years, I moved home to Wilkes County, North Carolina where I grew up. I have been looking for my ancestors for almost 50 years now. A lot of the first settlers in this area (Wilkes) migrated on to Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri and many other states. I am a 6th generation descendant of Sarah Boone, the sister to Daniel Boone.

I live within 3-5 miles of the following Baptist Church Cemeteries in the county: Big Ivy, Yellow Hill, Blue Ridge, New Hope. Stony Hill is just up the road and the Lenderman-Powell Family Cemetery is on our property.

In addition to Boone, my other surnames are: Spears, Hamby, Dillard, Cardwell, Ashley, Owens, McGee, Church, Shepherd, Cartwright, Greer and Woodie to name a few.

My grandmother told me when I was growing up ... how do you know where you are going, if you don't know where you have been... I have been chasing those ancestors ever since.

I also do Genealogy Research and would be glad to assist you.

All memorials are entered with the greatest respect.

Please let me know any corrections needed or additions I can help with.

Thank you so much for the transfer of my great grandmother's memorial. The bonus was Uriah's memorial as well. It was unexpected. Bless you again in all your endeavors.

Glad to help Barbara -- and there were quite a few other Taylor's with that big headstone - What was her name? I'll be happy to keep my eyes out for her. Cor.

Thank you for providing information for George and Sarah Whittington. Both memorials are now updated. They are not related to me and I would be happy to transfer them for you to maintain.

I have put the birth place you requested in the edit, but changed the death place you requested from Rockingham County which is Wentworth and Eden, to here in Richmond County. I thought he died close to Rockingham/Hamlet?
