Do you still have the original photo of the burial in this memorial page?
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=newton&GSiman=1&GScid=1966017&GRid=11455664&
I would really like to locate this burial but there is no headstone. I thought If I could read the headstone adjacent then I might be able to pinpoint it. I asked the Newtons here in town but it is such a longshot because of the passage of time.

William A. Fairchild
I see that William A. Fairchild is your uncle, his mother was Lucy Diveley. I visited him in his home in St. Elmo, IL in 1982. He was my grandpa Diveley's 2nd cousin. Are you related to the him or his wife

Fairchild Family
Dolores, I usually stick to F-A-G guidelines on transfers, 4 generations of direct lineage, but if you're going to share those wonderful photos, I know you're in it for the right reasons. The memorials are yours.

Would you like copies of the unedited headstone photos?

Hayes Photos....
Hello Dolores....its been a few years since we last talked. I would like permission to use the photos you have added here of our common ancestors? I don't use them on commercial sites.

Use of photos
To expand on the information in the message below...
--ALL contemporary photos are automatically copyrighted.
--Ancestry's Terms & Conditions specifically state "you should not reproduce or submit anything without permission of the owner" and "If we believe, in our sole discretion, that you are in breach of this Agreement or are acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of this Agreement, we may limit, suspend or terminate your access to our Website." Copyright infringement is taken very seriously.
--Nearly every web-site also prohibits posting photos without the photographer's permission. Always read the Terms of Use documentation on the web-sites you are using.
--Making a caption statement "photo courtesy of XXX" is NOT sufficient. Some erroneously believe 'giving credit' is an adequate substitute for permission and use the "courtesy of" without even contacting the photographer. To be correct, the notation should be something like "Permission to republish photo was granted by XXX on MM/DD/YY". The person republishing the photo should keep a copy of the photographer's statement granting permission.

RE: Addison Judson Bryant gravestone
Regarding your message: This is what I do when I come across a photo on Find A Grave of an ancestor whose gravestone I would like to share:
I contact the photographer, like you, and ask if I can use their photo in my family tree...
If the photographer approves of the download, (those that use an Apple/Mac computer, like me), can view the larger image and drag it to the desktop... that image can be uploaded into Ancestry... as long as the photographer says it's 'ok' with them, then Ancestry considers it 'ok' with Them!!!
I make it a policy to make a notation that reads something like this: 'photo of the gravestone of *** (image courtesy of xxx, via Find-A-Grave memorial)'
This not only gives credit to the photographer, but it also gives authorization to Ancestry that it has been approved by the photographer... Ancestry DOES NOT approve of people 'stealing' images, especially if they are private or copywritten, to be indiscriminately posted on their site!!
I hope this clears up the procedure... and, again, thank you for your work to preserve an image of our ancestors' final resting places!!

May I have your permission to download your photo of the gravestone of Addison J. Bryant? I would like to upload it into my Ancestry family tree.
Thank you for your consideration.
