Nancy -

I'm so glad that you are thrilled. People like you finding long-lost ancestors are the most rewarding part of my work here on Find A Grave.

I took it on as a special project to do all the memorials for this cemetery. I visited the pastor and he gave me copies of all their records, including their Excel database. I found that there were lots of omissions in the database and many conflicts between the written records (typewritten copies) and the database. I gave the pastor an updated, revised database where I attempted to resolve all the conflicts and produce an all-encompassing, complete database, which I then sent to him. If you'd like a copy, do let me know.

[Lt. Col.] Henry "Hal" Dixon, Jr.
Hi Nancy,

I have a lot of notes on this man. I am working on the Dixons in a few lines, as well.

There is a monument in Hal's honor here:
Guilford Courthouse National Battlefield Park.

It was a very noteworthy battle. From another source the monument info is listed as such:

In Memoriam, Lt. Col. "Hal" Dixon, of Caswell County, NC
3rd North Carolina Regiment, Continental Line
Brandywine Sept. 11th 1777
Germantown Oct. 4th 1777
Monmouth June 20th 1778
Stono Ferry June 20th 1779
Camden Aug 16th 1779
Guilford Court House March 15th 1781
The Embodiment of Chivalry. The Idol of His Soldiers. Thrice Wounded in Battle,
From Which He Died July 17th 1782.
1895
Hal Dixon Monument
Dedicated 1896. Lt. Colonel Henry "Hal" Dixon was appointed as Inspector General of Militia. He was present at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. He died in 1782 from wounds recieved in the Battle of Eutaw Springs. Several errors in dates appear on the monument's tablet.

If you want all of my notes, I can e-mail them to you.

RE: Sarah Spader Bertine 53314358
Thanks for the offer, but I have her parents' names, so I'm good. No, Paschal and Sarah never had any children that I know of.

I have Sarah dying in Brooklyn. Info is from death indexes on Stevemorse.org. If you ever go to Family History Library (LDS), Stevemorse says
her death certificate is on roll 1324210

Only death notice I've found on her:
"Brooklyn Daily Eagle," Brooklyn, New York, Apr 24, 1910, BERTINE - On April 23, 1910, Sarah M., wife of Paschal D. Bertine. Service at residence, 261 Clifton Place, Tuesday.

If she'd died a place other than Brooklyn, they probably would have mentioned it in the death notice

Happy hunting
Susan

Jacob Quick Spader
Hi there. I noticed you created a grave yard called Richard Graveyard, where you put a memorial for Jacob Quick Spader. You may be interested in this other memorial for Jacob. See #126082724.
