Bio and Links
My brother has been interested in genealogy for several years, and I have also developed a passion for it. We have developed a site for others that have the same interest.
Strasser Ancestry is dedicated to the Strasser, Strawser, Strausser, Strascher, surname and it's associated histories, lineages, documents and links for the present and to the future Strasser researcher. We are researching the Strasser family in Indiana, with key names being, Gibson, Frye, Bishop, Zimmerman, Irelan, Warvel.
Also the Strasser (Strawser, Strascher...) of Pennsylvania with key names being, Shaeffer, Straub, Stragern.

Barbara Ann Eltzroth
I was just viewing Barbara A Eltzroth's memorial and it looks to be the same Barbara A Eltzroth who married my great great Uncle Harvey Pointer/Poynter. They married in 1894-95 in Logansport, IN. Barbara A and Harvey are listed as husband and wife on their marker at the Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville, IN. A stepson, Schuyler Wirick, is listed in the posted newspaper obit for Harvey and I notice on your Barbara Ann Gibson Eltzroth that she was married to John Wirick for three years until his death and they had one son, William Schuyler Wirick. Are you a relative?

Her memorial number on the Pointer marker is:
#11844922.

There appears to be two memorials. If they are the same person, perhaps they should be merged?

I would appreciate your thoughts on this.

Sincerely,
Andrea Poynter McDaniel

Looking for tombstsone of Christian Harley Reiff
He married Mary Strasser, after his wife and her husband, John Strasser died.

I found your photo of Mary's tombstone, but see none for Christian.

He may have died in Flora, Carroll County, IN.

I am looking for a photo of his tombstone for a DAR application and would appreciate any help you might offer!

Thanks,

Abraham Strauser
Hi. I was wondering if you could tell me where the headstone of Abraham is located in the Shamokin Cemetery, is it in the GAR section? He seems to actually be interred in the Freewill Cemetery of Columbia County, I was just wondering why he also has a marker in Shamokin. The Shamokin Cemetery Company burial records don't show his burial there.

Thanks,
Bill

Johann "Nicholas" Strasser
Hi Jack,

Nicholas Strasser was my 6th great grandfather. Guess that makes us cousins at some level and everyone else mentioned here. Just wanted to thank you for adding the information to Nicholas's Find-A-Grave website. I was over in that area looking for my Wildermuth family graves and didn't even know at that time I was related to the Strassers. I find myself drawn to cemeteries and churches often and later find out there was a relation there. Guess it's a gene memory. I live not too far from the area, I'm in Dauphin Co., but most of my family is in Montgomery Co., Pa of course. Once again thank you for your effort and I will send money to the Delp's for Nicholas's headstone.

Joan

John Nicholas Strawser
Do you have any information about John Nicholas Strawser and his service in the Revolutionary War? I can't find any on the DAR website. I am also looking for documents that link him to his grandson James Strauser. Thanks
