Dear Mrs. Lorraine Esther Hamann Chandler,
Thank you for all you have done, are doing, and shall do. It is well.
Are you kin to the Bowles in Virginia?

Thank you so much for trying to find this stone. I had my doubts that it could be found, but apparently the child, and mother Mary, are listed as being in this cemetery. I sure wish I could solve the mystery of where the records for this information came from. It might forever remain a mystery in our family.

I live in California. I was an Army brat so we moved around a lot. I was born in Texas. Actually if you want to know more about my family you could go to veazie.org and see what has been put on there. I graduated from Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley in 1960. I went to college at Sierra College, Brigham Young University and San Francisco State. I have four children and nine grandchildren. After teaching for a few years and then working for the county library I retired and spent two years in Peace Corps South Africa. My maiden name was Lambert.

Here's a link to young Neill's death certificate at FamilySearch:
Note that his date of death was 11/11/1938 (not 11/10/1939).
It also confirms his place of burial at Inglewood Park, like his father. Looks like they might be in one of the Mausoleums.

My grandmother was Lulu Conklin. She married Charles Ernest Lambert. They eloped, and her father, Henry Conklin, was not very happy about it, but I guess they reconciled after he saw his first granddaughter. They had five daughters and one son. My father, William Lambert was the son and the youngest. Lulu and Charles married in Wisconsin, lived in Minnesota for the birth of their first two children and then moved to Washington where they lived the rest of their lives. My grandfather said about Harrison Conklin, "I think old Grand Dad was an Indian medicine doctor. The first time I saw him he had a plug hat and long white hair and whiskers. He would come to our place to play checkers. He was not much of a player. Lulu and I had a hard time letting him win."

I'd give Inglewood Park a call. Most likely since he was buried there, either the son or wife is probably there as well. Their phone # is (310) 412-6500.
Also on the Inglewood cemetery page, they have a link to their website where you can check burials since 1974. They have a Jewell Bowles with a dod of 1977, but no birthdate listed, so perhaps that could be her?
