I was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I have lived in Louisiana since 1965, but I go back to Tuscaloosa to visit family and of course, make my trips to the cemeteries. I started genealogy over 12 years ago. |

You are welcome, glad to help. Steve
I have been out of the loop for a while. I told you I would check on Hatton Gist since he is listed at the cemetery, to see if there might be a family plot that the cemetery missed. I still could not find Bomer, but I have photos of Hatton and his wife Prudie's marker. Next to them is Velma Gist Fruzia, which I assume you know is Hatton and Prudie's daughter who died as a result of an infection from child birth. They each have a memorial, so I will upload the pictures today. Sorry about Bomer......I just have no record of him.

Patricia. About your request for Maurine Gist.....before I submitted the request I checked and it appears she was married to Bomer Gist. I requested info on both. The cemetery had no retrievable record on Mausrine or Bomer. One of the people that work there was nice enough to go to the archives in the warehouse and found that the only Gist there is Hatton Gist, who dies in 1979 in Weslaco, TX. A hand written note in that file indicated that Hatton's son is Bomer,of Crystal City, but there was no mention of Maurine. So.....I am going to close this out as no record at the cemetery, but I will keep the sheet on it and next time I submit names for locations I will submit Hatton Gist and see if I can find his grave. Maybe.........just an outside chance.....Maurine and Bomer are buried with Hatton and the cemetery records are inaccurate. I will caution you though, that my experience with this cemetery is they keep very good records.

I haven't heard back from you, but my aunt Lois told me Maude's first name was Lottie. I don't think it is. I believe it Maude L Spencer O'Conner. Do you have any info on this? I am in contact with a cousin on the Spencer side that has a physical copy of her death certificate. So, hopefully we can get this figured out.

Yes, I am related to a Spencer. My great grandmother was Maude Lottie Spencer and she is buried in MS. You sent me a message (2008) under another log-in (Donna Carol #46992201) and I do not use it. I had actually forgot all about it!

Links made and complete name added to these two memorials with info your provided.
Thank you for your work on findagrave.
Sorry this one took so long. He was not buried real near his dad and the Monsoon rains we have had here since late June kept me out of the cemetery until now.

Absolutely. Do you know either his mother or fathers name and where he was born. Any of that information will help. I've been going to the cemetery every day looking for the requests and can't find him (plus a lot of the others). So any information you know for a fact will help.
