Hi Martha was my great great grandma. Did you know that she remarried and her last name was Hodge(SP) at her death? Her daughter Bertha was my daddy's grandma.
|chmpjf||RE: Landon Paul Newell|
I have been doing some research regarding Landon Newell and Landon Paul Newell. First I'm 100% convinced neither are in the Science Hill cemetery. They could be in another cemetery in the Science Hill cemetery including Mt Gilliam though I haven't seen a grave marker with their names. There are a number of unmarked and unreadable graves throughout this part of Ky from that era. There is a Margaret Newell buried in Pisgah cemetery in Pulaski cty, with different dates and a Margaret Newell in Lincoln cty in the Hustonville cemetery also with different dates. There are hundreds of cemeteries large and small in these counties. I have researched in the historical society. There was a Newell post office in the north end of Pulaski cty and I'm trying to figure out where that might have been. But a lady in the historical society who had researched some Newells in Pulaski was unfamiliar with your Newells said there were Newells up in Lincoln cty. Hope maybe this helps you some.

Cindy, while I was at Clara and Charles grave sites, I also found a stone reading "Gerald (1922) and Leolia (1923-2002) Eckenstein" which was not listed in the findagrave site for the Somerset cemetery. I added Leolia Eckenstein to the cememtery records as well as a photo. I did not add Gerald since there was no death date and he may still be alive.
I hope you find this useful.

Glad to help out. I had taken that one a while back when I got the other Newells for you.

That's a new cemetery for me. However, it is probably within 10 miles. Maybe by this weekend.

|chmpjf||RE: Landon Newell|
Here are the Newell's in the Science Hill Cemetery that I'm aware of: Kate, Linda, Mack, Mary Alice, Sam E, Sena, Velma, W.S., & Willie P. If there are any others they are more recent deaths and my list isn't that up to date.
Your date for Landon is pretty old. I haven't paid that close of attention but that would be a pretty early grave in here. But the above names are all of the readable graves except those in the last 4 or 5 years.

I am more than happy to find these markers for those who are trying to find there ancestors. I'm trying to do the same thing and I too appreciate those who are out there returning the favor.

Science Hill cemetery registry doesn't show a Landon Newell. That's not to say he's not out there. Is there someone he might be buried next to?
