Laudine Sorter
You have the memorial for Laudine Sorter who died Nov 24, 1950, do you known where she died? I am looking for a copy of her obit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Leech at Social Hill
Are you from the Benton area? If so, I have a favor to ask of you. James Wilburn Leech was the brother of my great grandmother, Ella Frances Leech Adams. I have found an obiturary for their father James J Leech, who died in 1915. It states that he is buried at Social Hill. I have created a memorial for him there # 107468383. I have attached the obit to his memorial. I am unsure if he has a headstone... also his wife, Sarah, died in about 1885 while in Saline County, but I do not know where she is buried. If you are ever at the cemetery again could you please look to see if there is a headstone for either of them there? Thanks!

RE: Memorial Transfer
Thank you! I believe Henry Reather was the only one of the family buried at Social Hill, though I don't know where either of his wives were buried.

Henry Paul Reather Memorial# 38760187

Henry Paul REATHER Jr. was my gg grandfather. I thought you might like to add some of this information to his entry.

Henry was born 16 Feb 1860 in Leadgate, Medomsley, County Durham, England, son of Henry Paul REATHER and Mary JEWITT, and came to America at age 18 with his brother Ralph, arriving at the port of Galveston, Texas on 8 September 1878. The brothers soon went back to England to bring their parents over, and returned in 1880. On 15 Oct 1884, Henry and Ralph both filed a Declaration of Intention in Caldwell County, Texas, the first step in becoming an American citizen. Ralph later went back to England, but Henry must have finished the process after moving to Arkansas. The 1910 census says he is naturalized, and the 1920 census gives his naturalization date as 1910.

Henry married Nancy Zerielda SAPP 5 July 1888 in Caldwell County, Texas. They had 12 children together before divorcing in 1921.

Henry lived in Bexar County, Texas then in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas, before moving to Magazine, Logan County, Arkansas by train on Christmas Eve 1904. They later moved to Sebastian County, Arkansas.

Henry was a carpenter and my grandmother always said he helped to build many of the houses in the High Street/6th Street area of Fort Smith. This area was greatly damaged in the tornado of 1996.
