Post-1923 Obituaries: I have written to the St. Joseph News-Press to determine if it is acceptable to copy their obituaries. It is not. While I do have permission from some newspapers, the St. Joseph News-Press is not one of them. |
If you want to write up an abstract of the information in the obit, with the full cite, I *will* include that in the memorial. However, I will remove any information about survivors, which should be done anyway. HTH
Though it's hard to tell, I do welcome hearing from people with corrections and questions. Just use the SAC to send your inquiry or information. HOWEVER, if you don't include your email address, and I need to contact you back, I'll try once, but I won't have conversations with you via "Leave a Message." If it's that important to you, you can include your email address.
I will only transfer memorials per FAG guidelines. However, if you sponsor a memorial and the person is not in my direct line, I will probably transfer it to you.
Information about how FAG works is freely available through the FAQs and the forums. It is not my responsibility to educate you.
Please don't assume "you've got it wrong" when you come across a memorial with erroneous information. With the new "automatic edit" feature, I have little control over changes to my memorials, and problems I might have caught are going through anyway, because I no longer get notifications. So now, I'm inundated with SACs to fix erroneous family relationships -- mothers listed as spouses, dead babies listed as parents -- and in some cases, they aren't related at all. I'm happy to try to fix these, but the "how can you be so stupid" tone should probably be directed elsewhere.
I do not respond favorably to harassment and insults. Vent your spleen if it makes you feel better. My delete key works just fine.
