Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest
Neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished marble stone

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born

Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh and blood and bone
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so

I wonder how you lived and loved
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot
And come to visit you.

Changed her name to Gray on the memorial and added her parent's names in the bio section. Her mother was a Reynolds. Thanks for your help.

Mc Gowen family - Elmsford, New York
I see you added flowers for the Mc Gowen's buried at the Elmsford Reformed Church Cemetery, Elmsford, NY. Are you related to them? John and Margaret are my great great grandparents and I am looking for information about their other children. William in particular.
Thanks for the work you put into finding these graves.

Mary Mandell - Hardwick, Ma.
Thank you very much for alerting me to the existence of two memorials for Mary. As you can see they are in two different cemeteries. Mary (as can be seen from my photo) is buried in Old Hardwick Cemetery, this is also noted in VR by a "G.R.1". I have no problem removing the memorial I created and adding the photo to the other if the contributor will move that memorial to the correct place. I have sent her messages & edits before and she never responds for some reason. If you could contact her and let her know perhaps you will have better luck! Thanks again, and keep me posted. Jim
