RE: A W Johnson
Thanks so much for your reply. It's good to know that the railroads made every effort to get the men back to their families. Sorry about the link. Since I found the article I have been searching on find a grave for both men and haven't seen anything yet. In the past I was able to locate my great uncle's burial as he was one of the men you documented with your work. Here's what the article said: Wagoner, I.T. Dec 6 (1901-it was the Wichita Daily Eagle, I think I had it wrong the first time?) A switch engine on the St Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railroad, while running backwards at a high rate of speed, left the rails at Ross Switch, near here, and Engineer J L Hutchinson and Brakeman Johnson were instantly killed. A conductor and a fireman escaped with slight injuries. The switch engine had been sent out to pull in the east-bound passenger train, that was being pulled by a crippled engine (-end-). I'm not sure if this is the Johnson I am looking for, if yes, he did have a wife and child and a good # of family in Kansas (Allen and Greenwood counties). There were a fair number of railroad men in the extended family. I've given you the details here as I know it is a particular interest of yours to track these things down and set these men to rest. Thanks so much for your work and for clarifying things for me. I really appreciate it, Iris

RE: Dawson Fowler
Mike, how nice of you to delete your Memorial for Dawson and let mine remain. Yes, I did do some research on him, but you also contributed time in doing yours. I am glad to know you added a "note," that makes me smile, I am happy to "share" him with you through the little note!! Thank you for your kindness!! Pam

RE: Caplinger
Mike, I just now noticed your comment regarding Catherine Caplinger. You say you have photo of her. I would love to see it. Are you able to scan it and email it. It sounds like you knew several Renicks. What Renicks did you know?

RE: Christiana Carden
You are more than welcome.

Marywood Cemetery has many interments without a headstones or markers. There are a lot of concrete headstones and/or footstones with no lettering nor dates; just the stone or rock.
:~( However, I went to the Historian who documented Marywood Cemetery and also, spoke with the Historian at Tyndall Air Force Base and both have the list (which you see on Find A Grave which unfortunately has duplication of the interments names). They do not have a record of precisely who was buried in all the unmarked grave. :~(

The good news is that at one point in time, someone knew where Christiana Carden was buried (exact location) and placed a marker with her name, born, and died dates. There are a total of five located in Marywood Cemetery with the same marker style as like Christiana Carden.

I hope this information helps you. If you should have additional questions, please let me know.

Linking of Mildred Fason Ward
Do you have any photos of Aunt Mildred? She's my great-aunt by marriage. Her husband, Earl Ward was my mom's mother's brother.

Hall Family
Iam the Great-great grand daughter of Elijah Barnie Hall and Rachel Melvina "Dolly" Cole Hall. I would love to know what you have on them and will be glad to share what I know. Berry G Hall was my great grandfather. I noticed that you have Charlene listed as his daughter, however she was not his child. He did have a daughter that died but her name was Mary Emma. She was my grandmother's sister. I don't know where she is buried...I think somewhere around Seminole Ok.

RE: memorial findagrave
When you see 'Inactive', it usually means the graver has passed away themselves. Or perhaps they just stopped working on Find A Grave memorials. So here is how to get transfers:

Send an email to:

Subject line: Inactive Graver - Please Transfer

Then in the body of the message put your name and member # for them to transfer to. Below that list the name & # of the memorial(s) you'd like transferred.

It may take a while, but you will get an email when the transfers take place.

RE: Roy Sullivan
Hi Mike,
I have been curious just who you were. I've noticed your JMW on several of the graves of my family members. Roy Sullivan was my uncle by marriage, his wife was my father's sister Rosa. I just got started on less than a year ago. I've learned a lot , but I have a lot more to learn. I would appreciate any information you might have. My father's name was Alfonso E. Armenta. I didn't know him well. My father and mother were divorced when I was about 2 years old. My mother's name was Irene, she passed away a couple years ago at the age of 101
I did call Howard Sullivan a few days ago, and had a nice visit. He would be my 1st. cousin.
My name is Carolyn Armenta Shewmaker I was born 1943 I have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. I live in Kansas City MO.
Hope to hear from you soon.
