Hi Paul, the information for her parents being Louise Girard and Marie-Angelique Renaud is from the "Quebec, Genealogical Dictionary of Canadian Families (Tanguay Collection), Vol. 4 Sect. 1:Fab-Gle".
Just a side note though, Marie-Angelique's father, Andre Renaud, is also known as Andre Renaud dit Desmoulins. If you hadn't seen a baptismal record for a Marie-Amable, I'd wonder if names were being confused. I tried to find a baptismal record for Amable on Ancestry.com, but didn't have any luck.
So all I can think of is that since there are a number of Louis Girard's, the baptismal record that you found must belong to a different Marie-Amable (it was not uncommon for cousins having the same names and naming their children the same names during the same time-frames, so Acadian research can be confusing)...
I did try to find a Louis Girard married to a Louise Desmoulins on a few different sites, and was not able to find any record of them as a couple, so that wasn't much help either. ☺
Please let me know if you find anything disputing the info in the Quebec, Genealogical Dictionary of Canadian Families (Tanguay Collection) - I have found mistakes on there before, but they have all been on estimated dates... Thanks!
