I think honoring those who pass on is a testament to their lives. Though long dead and forgotten in a physical sense; we can make sure their names live on through cemetery restoration, and online at Find A Grave.
I love history, and genealogy. I grew up in a family with aging great-great aunts, and taking the old ladies to the country cemeteries where their elders are buried was a Thanksgiving afternoon tradition. I having been graving most of my life! I have returned to college to finish my history degree, hope to teach in High school, and go on for a master's.
Funerary architecture is another passion of mine.
I am amazed by some of the monuments, some regal, some unusual, that people have provided for their dead.
I operate mainly in Riverside and Rose Hill Cemeteries in Macon, Georgia.
*If I have incorrect information on a memorial, please email me the correct information, and I will take care of it. I do try to document all information I put on memorials, and I try to provide Location coordinates on out-of-the-way graves in Rose Hill and Riverside cemeteries in Macon. I am currently back tracking to add relationship links to older memorials. PLEASE send me any relationship links that you see are needed. Let me know if I have any wrong.
I will tranfer memorials to relatives or descendants only. I put a lot of hard work into hiking these cemeteries, and I almost always add a grave photo. Too much work to hand it over to someone only wanting to increase their numbers.
PLEASE don't "dump" photos onto my memorials. Pictures of yourself being goofy in front of a grave, or adding photos of markers identical to the ones I have already put up just junks up the memorial, and does not leave room for family to add photos.
I DO NOT USE PHOTOS OTHER THAN MY OWN UNLESS PERMISSION HAS BEEN GRANTED FROM THE OWNER OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION BY TWO CEMETERIES TO DO SO.
