Alternative to my email is to buy "Baptism of Fire" by Eric Jacobson & Richard Rupp. Alternative is wrong.....buy it anyway. Philip, Francis, William, and James Gossard, the 183rd, and the rest of the Franklin heroes (including two great-grandfathers in our house, one each.

|Debra Gray Guthrie||RE: Baker's|
I have to retract my earlier message concerning the Baker's.. my gr gr grandmother was Olivia Metcalf Baker and her husband my gr gr grandfather is Thomas (Tommie) Baker who is buried in Zion Hill Cemetery in Monticello, MO
I believe his brother to be Robert Baker. I need some help trying to tie the Baker's up..I am connected to you in ancestory.com but still can't figure this out.. Plz help me!!
|Debra Gray Guthrie||RE: Baker|
I am Anna Mae Baker's gr grandaughter, I am looking for her family. I believe her father to be Robert K. Baker in Zion Hill Cemetery in Monticello, Nancy Baker being his wife. I am diligently seeking this family in order to possibly find some Cherokee Indian heritage. My gr grandma looked to be very Indian in her pics also my grandmother and her sisters as well. I live in Oklahoma, my children are 1/2 cherokee by their father. If you have any information on this family I would be very interested. My gr grandma Anna Mae Baker Fishback is also in Zion Hill Cemetery.. thank you so much ahead of time!! email@example.com
Hi Christopher -
I was able to locate the Maria Leas headstone at Allen's Grove cemetery. I'm working on the photos for Leonard - the stone is in an area with a lot of older stones that are kind of hard to read, so I want to make sure I have the correct photo before I put it up. Hopefully later today or tomorrow I should have something for you.

I will go back and get other photos of the Westbrook Family plots. It appears the family is all side by side behind the main stone with headstones or footstones marking the individual graves.

Fulfilled photo request for James Gallant, and since wife was immediately south, photographed, made page and transferred to you. Could read the verse on Mary's stone, but that on James' is largely underground. I wouldn't be shy about gently disturbing the grass to read with flashlight, but in this case someone had planted flowers. I was so happily surprised a neighbor or relative would care to do this 183 years after his passing that it just seemed wrong to mess with it, so I'll get that for you in the Fall or winter if it remains legible.
I was just at Hasson last week. I have a pic of this tombstone BUT it's a hard copy. I don't have it on my computer. If you like...I can make a copy and send it to you.
