When I was born, we lived in Caldwell County, MO and now live in Daviess County, MO. I have lived in these two counties all my life, except for 7 years when I was a child and lived near Abilene, KS.
I have always enjoyed sitting at the table at family dinners and hearing the older people tell stories about people and times in the past.
I became involved in looking for my genealogy when I got a computer a few years ago. My grandparents are buried in Caldwell County and some of my great and great-great grandparents as well. Some of the names I am researching are LOONEY, SLOAN, FARR, GREEN on my side and HOOD, GARRISON, STORY, HARRIS on my husband's side.

Caryn, I think this might be a different Josephine Thompson, accounts in the newspaper state that the mother died, unless it was just a big cover up huh? I don't think so though, I'll check around and see if I can find out who the parents of this Josephine Thompson are though. Thanks for the info. Caryn, I just discovered that Hazel P Stichler, sister to Nettie Jane Stichler, married Jacob Madison "jake" Foley. They had a daughter named Nadine Joyce Foley. Caryn, Would you please correct Nadine Joyce Foley Cox to Nadine Joyce Leedom Cox. Nadine Joyce Leedom married Tinsley Harold Cox on 1 Nov 1945. There are also 2 dates that are different. One is on the Veterans Stone: 7 Mar 1923. The other is on the stone: 7 Mar 1924. I don't know which one is right. On Ancestry, they are both listed. They had a son that passed over July 3, 2012. His name is Gary Richard Cox and I have listed him in Find a Grave. Nadine parents are Charles Harold Leedom and Nettie Jane Stichler. I can't find any Foleys in this line. Caryn, just wondering if you are related to the Edwards family that is buried in Caldwell Co.?
Alexander Martin Edwards was the first husband of my 2x great grandmother. I have info on many buried there if you'd like to update the grave sites.
