Hello Lisa - is your Mom Josephine Ann Bolton Bird? And your grandmother Lessie A. Wilson of Itasca, TX?

My husband's, Randy C. Wright, grandmother is Mary Magdeline "Maggie" Usrey Gregory Wilson Wright of Itasca. Her step-daughter is Lessie A. Wilson.

If this is the same family, would love to visit with you. Thank you for your time. kimwright09@gmail.com.

RE: Mildred Bird
Lisa, if this is your grandparents, then I may very well understand. One of my grandfathers died in 1940 and I was never told anything about him. When I found his grave in Cleveland two years ago, I was just overwhelmed. I was finally able to "meet" him.

Hi Lisa, while doing Vick genealogy research I found your family sites. Thought I'd write because, although we don't know each other, we have common roots--Henry S. Vick. I'd like to reconnect as many as I can of the Texas Vick line because I believe I've proved up the connection between the Texas line and the huge Vick family. The Vick family has proven the ancestors all the way back to the immigrant in 1605. Would love to visit. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello
I am Rick Peloquin. I am a retired Army Captain. My wife is from Llano.
A few years back I did a lot of research on Michael as he is the only Vietnam War casualty that is listed with a home town of Llano, TX. I wrote the Llano paper and suggested that the town was woefully negligent in recognizing their only claim of sacrifice during the war.
From what I could find out, he wasn't actually from Llano but from close to San Antonio.
I researched both his parents and found that his father died less than 8 years after Michael was born and is also buried in the Fort Sam Houston cemetery. His mother also died within 10 years of Michael.
I contacted a couple of the guys from his Platoon in the 1st Cav who were with him when he was killed and found out what had happened to him.
I posted most of the information I had on Michael's tribute page on a Vietnam War Wall Memorial web site.
Having said all that I was surprised to read your post on the Find a Grave website.
I would love to here about Michael's family and any information you have on him. Where he went to school. What his connection to Llano is.
I plan on readdressing the issue that Llano still has no tribute to its son, even if it's an adopted one. They could name a park bench, plant a tree…SOMETHING in his honor!

Sincerely

Rick Peloquin

THANK YOU LISA FOR MAKING A TRY FOR MY AUNT SADIE'S PHOTO. Find A Grave REPORTED THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM TO ME.
The general problem they reported is:
Cemetery office confirmed that this burial is unmarked

They also reported, specifically:
This is actually listed as an unmarked grave, wife of William.
I TAKE IT THEY DID HAVE A BURIALSITE FOR HER. THIS MAY NOT MAKE A LOT OF SENSE, BUT I WONDER IF YOU ARE EVER BACK IN THAT CEMETERY YOU COULD TAKE A PHOTO OF THE BURIAL SITE. I HAVE VERY LITTLE TO PLACE ON HER MEMORIAL EVEN THIS WOULD BE GOOD.
JUST WHENEVER YOU ARE THERE. YOU HAVE DONE TWO PHOTOS FOR ME BEFORE IN ABILENE. I AM A NATIVE OF ABILENE LEAVING THERE IN 1954. I STILL REFER TO ABILENE AS HOME.I LIVED ON HICKORY ST. AND WENT TO AHS====THANKS RON
