Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always been fascinated with history, both the history of my family and history in general. As a child, I loved to hear my grandmother and her brother and sisters talk about their Grandpa Beachum who was a Confederate soldier, and their great great Grandfather King, who was a Soldier in the Revolution. Their stories made these long dead people live again for me.

To me, Find A Grave is not only a wonderful resource for historical research, but also a personal way of remembering loved ones... both loved ones we've known, and loved ones from the long past.

Callie Steele
Found them all on the 1940 Census.

She was listed as Callie Hilton on Alberta's bio and Callie Steele in Dorothy's obit on line...Callie was 25 years younger, so she may have remarried...want to bet?

In any case, Steele & Hilton are Lancaster County names, as you may know.

Hello,

Tristam Fauntleroy is my 13th great grandfather too! His g'g'g'grandson, Col. Moore Fauntleroy settled in the American colonies and is my 9th (?) great grandfather.

Thank you for posting this profile on Tristam. I would like to Dorset to visit his gravesite some day.

Regards,
Stella Fauntleroy Goodall

Alexander Baptist Chapel Cemetery, Leicester, NC
Hi John, thanks so much for reply. I love your story of this wonderful woman. My family had such a person too, I was very young. The records of yesteryear were so bad and makes it so confusing for us. Many death certificates are in error with name, burial, etc. I am going out again this weekend just to make sure I didn't miss. However, the area called "cemetery" is small. Will let you know and maybe together can find a correct place for these dear people. Just leave as is until.

Alexander Baptist Chapel Cemetery, Leicester, NC
Hi John, hope you can help with this. I documented and photographed every visible grave at Alexander Baptist Chapel. As in my description of the church, it has been vacant for years. The only grave markers that weren't photographed were not there. These were in the very late years of 1800's & early 1900. All of the more recent graves had stones, handmade or newer. There have been many many memorials added that I did not see by several people. There are many Alexander Cemeteries in the area. Could you please let me know where your info came from. If it is correct, I will retrace my steps and also call the trustees. Thanks so much for your help in this. I am also asking same of the others, this little black cemetery & church is special to me.

RE: Susan York Rheim # 54095262
I am not kin. I was just researching and following family lines from some Rheims who are buried at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, and Susan's burial place showed up on Ancestry. I have managed to get links in place for some of her descendants, waiting now for the manager of her son John's memorial manager to approve the link to Susan.

RE: Carl Van Pelt, Find A Grave # 42835789
Dear John,
Thank you so much for responding to me. Carl Gwyn Van Pelt is my 2nd Cousin 2xremoved. His mother Eliza Ann Lipe is my 1st cousin 3xremoved. That is clear as mud I suspect! Eliza's father, Joseph S. Lipe, is my second great grand uncle so his father, Elias J. Lipe, is my 3rd great grandfather. Whew! I is fascinating, tracing our roots, isn't it?
Thank you again,

tombstone says death Apr 18
On the picture of the tombstone of Carl Gwynn Van Pelt it says Apr 18 for his date of death and in the info for him it says Apr 19. Was there a mistake on the stone?
