I am the current cemetery sexton of two Medina County Ohio cemeteries. These include Seville's Mound Hill Cemetery and Guilford Township's River Styx Cemetery. I would to thank everyone who contributes their time, energy and resources to make this site possible.|
Visitors to Mound Hill & River Styx often inquire about the number of cemetery interments. For many years the commonly accepted number was derived from a list compiled from the records of sextons and caretakers. The exact number of the graves was not certain due to deterioration of many original wooden grave markers, as well as damaged records and incomplete lists. However, in recent years, studies have been conducted which indicate there were more burials in these cemeteries than the number previously mentioned.
Beginning in 2007, cemetery interment records, dating from 1867 (Mound Hill), 1907 (River Styx), along with vital information obtained from death certs, family registries, historical works, military records, census reports, and the Social Security Administration was compiled. These more complete records have been entered into a data base.
Find-A-Grave contains memorial entries contributed by members of the public. Therefore, the information may not reflect all data discovered in the official records.
The information stated within our records is believed to be correct, based on the research compiled and the intent of the submitters. Researchers are hereby urged to verify said documentation through all available resource avenues.
I welcome your enquiries, additions and corrections. Please note that my business email was out-of-service from May 20-June 18, 2013. Therefore I was unable to receive or process your requests during that time.

I was wondering if you know who posted the information on web grave for Joshua Shank. I would like to confirm the names of his parents listed. I do know Catherine Hoff (correct spelling) was his mother. I want to conform Samuel since we can't find a marriage certificate for them. Thank you

Oh Laurie, I'm happy that you have located and posted the Devin family graves at Mound Hill Cemetery! Michael was a brother of my ancestor and I've been wanting to learn more about this family, so hopefully will connect with some other family members here. Thank you so much!

I just wanted to say a few words thanking you for your tireless work in gathering all the information about all those that have gone before us. I have learned a great deal from the information, about my family. I will be forever grateful. I am a sponser of my biological Father's grave ( Herbert Dale Ralston) E. Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland Ohio. I contribute what I can. Thank yo so very much for your work and caring.

|Richard Halliwill||Geo & Kezia Halliwill Bible|
I'm new to this. Found an old family bible when I was clearing out my Moms old house in California this past March. Dad was Richard J Halliwill son of Richmond P Halliwill of Akron, Ohio. When Grandpa died Dad got this old bible. It was bought by George and Kezia Halliwill in Elyria, OH on 29 Nov 1881. Then presented to Melissa Ann on Christmas 1881. Much of the same information you presented in your 2009 document is also written in this bible. Question is that the bible needs to be preserved and saved for other researchers. Do you have any suggestions? I'm still reviewing the old photos and Halliwill records that were past down to me. A letter from London responding to an inquiry. Again I'd like to see them in a safe place in Ohio for others to review.
