Lisa Added by Lisa Roberts on Aug 25, 2009 12:15 PM David Cross Sardis Birchard Newfane Village Cemetery Cynthia Kelay-Guyette, In 2007 you added a splendid photograph of the monument (cenotaph) for Sardis Birchard from the Newfane Village Cemetery. He was in Co. L 11th Vermont Infantry and died at Andersonville in 1864 and is buried in the National Cemetery there. Alas, I can't decipher the inscription on the monument (it just gets blurrier as I enlarge it.) Can you tell me what the inscription says??? It would save me a trip to Newfane (I'm in Ferrisburgh.)
