Mourning Carter
I am doing a geneology for my husband's family, WILSON. In my research of Mourning Carter, my husband's great, great, great grandmother, I saw that you are searching for the Wilson family name. Elbert Walker, Mourning Carter's son, fathered a child by the name of Elbert Wilson, who is my husband's great grandfather. We have not been able to determine why the name changed from Walker to Wilson. If you have any insight as to this, we would greatly appreciate any knowledge you would like to share. You can contact me at kmkskh@aol.com. Maybe we can be of help to each other in our ancestor journey. I look forward to hearing from you.

Mourning Carter Walker
Sally Sarah Houston Carter Memorial #35618877
Children: Mourning Carter Walker.
On Ancestry.com there are many Trees listing Mourning's Mother as: Elizabeth Pullman Allen?
I did my DNA thru Ancestry.com and I connected to a Tree with Mourning Carter -
My great grandmother was Elizabeth "Betsy" Houston/Huston b. 1786 PA, she married, William Porter b. 1786 PA.
I also notice a Charles C Carter and a Charles Brent Carter, both with a daughter Mourning?

We also have the name of CALDWELL as a middle name in our family.

Any help you can give me to sort this out is greatly appreciated. PL

You are most welcome. Your message kind of was lost for a couple of days. Normally I try to update the memorials as quickly as I get them. Sorry that took me so long.
