Born and raised in Fresno, California of Alabama born parents, got into Genealogy in 1997 when I could not figure out what else to do with this computer on-line. I have built up quite a lot of pictures of old shots of Clay County and Jefferson County Alabama. I have visited most of the cemeteries of my ancestors and my Wife's ancestors in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. A Self-proclaimed Historian with a California Historical society (E Clampus Vitus), I am visiting places of historical interest and with my trusty Dimage , Vivitar and Olympus digital cameras have been taking pictures of headstones at whatever cemeteries we may visit and Historical Monuments in our travels in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Washington. In Fresno, I have added the 1919 biographies of early Fresno residents from the Paul E Vandor book titled "The History of Fresno County" to as many listings as I could. If you have something you would like to have added to a Bio, just drop me a line.|
I follow FindaGrave rules and usually transfer close relatives within 30 days. You can complain to the FindaGrave administrators if you want, but you will likely find they too have little patience for impatient people.

|CHRISTINE (Dawson/Nystrom) LU||Would love some help please|
I am writing to first of all thank you for providing a photo and cemetery of my paternal grandfather's grave site. No one in my extended family has seen or visited it.
It is my great desire to locate with your help. I will be in that area in a few days.
I know that Lawrence Grant Dawson (1894-Oct 13, 1975) died in San Luis Obispo and interred in the Mountain View cemetery. I have been told that there are no records kept from 1975 to help me locate it.
Years ago I did go there and tried unsuccessfully because 5 cemeteries fill the place with thousands of grave markers.
I was also told that Lawrence Dawson was buried in the COUNTY section of Mountain View cemetery. But they can't help me either. I even checked with the Coroner's office in Fresno to no avail.
If by any chance, you have GPS coordiantes or other means to help me find this, I would so VERY much be grateful.

I'm interested in managing this memorial. He is my great great grandfather. Thank you so much for putting up a photo of his marker and the location. My Find A Grave member id is 48722261.
Thank you for the transfer, and for taking the time to add him here!

Hi! Wondering if you could transfer this one to me? Trying to get everyone gathered and together.

I can't tell you how much it means to me and my wife to have Manuel's memorial to manage. Thank you so much, and God Bless.
Steve and Shirley.

Lester, I have a copy of the James I. Atchley Family Bible list of births and deaths and this is what it has for Benjamin and Martha.
Benjamin Atchley, born 1789, Tennessee, January
24th - died September 20, 1875
Martha Chambers, born in 1796, Tennessee, March
10th - died November 1876
Thought it is interesting, I got it 12/13/12. So much has happened, I just put it in a stack of other papers and forgot about it.
This family is the one who had the picture of
Martha and sent it to me.

Louisa Essman Hinton, 1839-1915, Alabama
"Mother of Seab Hinton, Molly Hinton, Martha Lee "Mattie" Hinton Crim (1871-1945), James Axley Eugene Hinton (1873-1945)"
1900 Census said she was the mother of 3 children; 3 still living.
Records show these names:
Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Hinton
Martha "Mattie" Lee Hinton
James Axley Eugene Hinton
Molly was born 10mo after Louisa and Walter married. Can you help me find any information on the child "Seab Hinton"?
My connection is: Dicey C. Naish Essman Wyatt > Louisa N. Essman Hinton > Martha "Mattie Lee Hinton Crim > Charles Wesley Crim (my grandfather).

Thank you for adding them. This is my husbands grandparents. If you would like to transfer them to me I would be happy to accept.

Cemetery notes and/or description:
The confusion comes from the fact that the church and cemetery are rural, outside of Walnut Hill. Walnut Hill is in Marion County, but the cemetery is in Jefferson County.
|German-Irish Lady||Little Grove Cemetery|
Just a short message to let you know that Little Grove Cemetery (also called Little Grove Christian Church Cemetery) is in Walnut Hill, Jefferson County, Illinois. The north/south dividing line is Walnut Hill Road. The South side of Walnut Hill Road is Jefferson County, IL and the North side of Walnut Hill Road is Marion County. (I live here so I should know.) Someone on Find A Grave (must not be from around here) has also wrongly listed this same cemetery as being in Jefferson City, Jefferson County, Illinois which again is entirely wrong
