Bio Photo My Grandfather, Noah Trentham, owned 350+ acres above Gatlinburg (White Oak Flats) in the Sugarlands area of what is now the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. My father, Sam Trentham, was nine years old when the family moved to Pigeon Forge in 1933 after the park was established.

My Mother, Sarah Ruby Stogner, born in Alabama, came to Tenn in the 1940's. She spent most of her life gathering her family records. Guess I got my interest in genealogy from her. She is now 95 and unable to dig up any more bones!

Upon request, I will transfer memorials for your close relatives.

I live in Louisville, Blount County, Tennessee (near Knoxville).

Hello Lillian!

I double-checked my info. You were right! I made some additions and corrections. Don't know why I was thinking that Bruce M. was Bruce Warren's father. Maybe it was the age difference between Bruce and his actual parents. Maybe it was the fact that the two Bruces were buried so close together at Shiloh. I don't know.

Thanks for adding the photos of Harkless, too! Did he serve in World War I? I believe the picture was dated 1909 a little before it began.

That is so cool about your Dad growing up in the Trentham home that use to be right next to the cemetery! I know where the creek is on the other side of the entrance to the stables. I need to look closer the next time I'm there for the springhouse foundation! Wow!

Thanks again,

Hi Lil:

Thank you for the information! Please add the marker photo you have. I believe that the Funeral Home information may be incorrect. In fact, she would have been only 13 years old when her first child was born. That's if we go by the 1902 birth date. The 1893 birth date seems more reasonable.

Thanks again!

Hello Lil:

Thank you for taking the time to complete my photo request. I really appreciate the effort! I am related to the Flynns buried in the cemetery. So, as you can see, I have a vested interest in the church and its cemetery.

Thanks again!

Warmest Regards,

Brittany Millsaps Mitchell
Hello Cousin!
Hello! I'm so happy to have discovered you. My name is Brittany Millsaps Mitchell. My great-great-great grandmother was Millie Trentham Ownby, a sister to your grandfather, Noah Trentham. As far as I can tell, you and I are sixth cousins. Millie married L. Steward Ownby, and they had my great-great grandma, Louisa Ownby Shults. And so it goes from there. I just wanted to say hello, and that I'm excited to meet you.
