RE: Photos
Hi Jack,

Yes, one would expect the pictures to be in black and white if they were photos, but they are paintings made in gouache on some kind of board by an itinerant painter who did not sign his name. They were handed down to me from my grandmother Edwinna Kaufman Bird, wife of John Robert Bird, who was the son of John Richard Bird, who was the son of Robert T. Bird, who was the son of Peter Hull Bird, who was the son of the Rev. Jacob Bird.

If you start at Jacob's memorial here on findagrave (number 34978597) and click on the children, you will see that I have a memorial up for each of those above.

When I received the paintings, my grandmother could not remember who they were. But I have pictures of all other ancestors who would have been their ages at the time of the paintings (about 1849), and these paintings can only be of Rev. Jacob Bird and Elizabeth Yeager.

However, I am hoping to find some confirmation by hearing from relatives like you who may have access to a later tintype or daguerrotype of Elizabeth that I can compare with my painting. If you know of anyone who can be of further help in this way, please let me know.

All the best,
Catherine

Hello Jack,

I'll be happy to share what I know about the pictures. What would you like to know about them?
