Hi Pam, Headstone pictures are ok, pictures of the person are ok, you can also add group shots that include the person as well (specify "family" when you are adding those pictures). You can add a picture to any memorial, not just ones you control.

According to the census Ethel was born around 1881, so I just used that year. Hopefully we will get a picture at some point and know the exact year.

The cemetery shows Ethel E. Stratton buried next to Curtis, died 10/20/1935, she is in the same plot as his but she is in space # 3. I don't know what her birth date is because she died before 1940, when the California death index starts.

I transferred him to you. You can put pictures on whether you control the memorial or not, but when you own the memorial you don't have to worry about anyone else messing with the pictures you posted (unless they somehow violated the Find A Grave guidelines, in which case Find A Grave could remove them, but it is so rare that I see anything posted that would cause a problem, although I do think it's a bit weird when someone posts a death certificate).

By the way, I updated her memorial with the maiden name and changed the birth year based on your photo.

Hi Pam, Would you like me to transfer the memorial to you so you can update it?

It is amazing sometimes what you find out when you can actually get to the cemetery and look at the markers, there are some mysteries solved that way and other mysteries created.
