I was born in Mt. Sterling, Brown Co., Illinois and have made West Monroe, La. my home. My hobbies are Family research and puttering with my few flowers in my back yard. I also have a cat named Bumper. I have been researching my family since about 1960 but was always asking questions a long time before that. The main names I am researching are: Lehne, Lewis, Battell/Battelle, Gibbs, McMeins/McMeans, Dale, Norton, and many others. They were located in Putnam and Hendricks Co., Ind., then Pike, Brown and Adams Cos. in Illinois and Miami Co Ks and Drexel Mo. Any help would be appreciated.

If you find a mistake in anything I have contributed, please let me know so I can correct it.

Have you ever found pictures of Mary, Thomas and their children?

Do you know any more about Ira and Raymond? I see the information about French, Rolland and Thomas,Jr. Have you found anyone else researching them?

I haven't found anything new on Charles McMeins, son of Alexander. It gets a little confusing because families have the two different spellings (McMeans - McMeins) of their name.

I am glad this site is here for us. It helps so much. Hope you are doing well.

RE: Sherman
Oh, I know. But which cemeteries do you want them from? I took
photos of all the readable stones in Fellows long ago. I will email
you what I have

RE: Sherman
Virginia, You are most welcome. Thank you for your kind words. Yes,
Sometimes it is very helpful. With Genweb walkthroughs, inscriptions
are often recorded. I have not yet gone to East Palmyra yet. The 3
photos I uploaded for Allen and Chester were the three I took for a
request for Adella's for Marsha Redden. There are three Sherman lots
forming an L, according to the map of the cemetery I received a few
months ago. The weather turned bad today after I left Palmyra but I
will get to East Palmyra before long. Winter comes and goes in CNY
