I've recently moved back to the The Great Land from sunny Arizona. Most of my life I lived on Unalaska Island in the Aleutians. This afforded me many opportunities to visit other villages on the Chain. As time and elements have allowed, I have surveyed, mapped, inventoried, and/or photographed local graveyards up and down the Chain and around the state.|
I've been interested in local history and Alaska Native genealogy (particularly Aleut and Alutiiq heritage) for many years and have found cemeteries to be an often overlooked resource.
The forget-me-not is Alaska's state flower so I have chosen this memorial when adding notes to Alaskan burials.
I strive not to make errors but, alas, am only human in that department. Please let me know where you have conflicting information, have something to share, or would like more family history or cemetery information from me.
Knowledge isn't knowledge unless it is shared.
