I am always so saddened when I post a child's memorial, my heart would go out to the parents and I would think, that has to be the most unbearable pain in the world. Unfortunately, on July 6th, 2012, I experienced that heart breaking pain, when I lost my son, Mark Allen Israels, II. No parent should out live their child.|
I want to thank everyone who has sent me thanks and kind remarks through emails and on my contributor page.
I believe that the majority of us contribute because of our love of helping others. I find great reward knowing that I have helped someone because of a memorial I posted. Not everyone knows where their ancestors are buried, or even what happened to them, so sometimes a stranger in the only person who can post the memorial and hopefully a loved one will find it. I do what I do because I love helping others. I have never hestiated to transfer a memorial over to anyone who has asked, or if I see that after I posted a memorial a family member left flowers, I transfer that memorial to them without being asked. I believe in sharing and giving.
I try very hard to make any corrections as soon as possible, and I do apologize if it takes me a week, but in between working full time and family I can't always get to them right away.
When I find an obituary where there is no known survivors, I feel by making a memorial for them, they are remembered, and isn't that what this is all about, so what if I didn't know them, they once were and should be remembered.
I enjoy working with my Southern Nevada findagrave buddy Nevada Bob and one of my newest buddies Eileen.
Words from Helen Keller "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

|AAW||Squire Tom & Mary Washburn|
George Dewey Washburn, the son of Mary #13361918 and Squire Thomas Washburn #13361715 was my step-grandfather, so that technically makes them my step great-grandparents. My mother knew them and many of George's siblings. Could you transfer them to me #48224322. I would like to get as many of their children linked up to their memorials as possible.

I think I told you I had found an obit for Sam Stanaway, thus the transfer. Well, I evidently didn't save it correctly, so I'm perusing the papers again. If I don't find it, I'll be transferring him back to you sans obit....

Plot names didn't change. I don't use them, but I can add a current map of the cemetery to any pix that you like, where you could copy it for your own records should you wish.

Ioof is the org that started Mountain view cemetery. They still to my knowledge own and opperate it. The Mason's bought a part of the land for their members. Most of the IOOF members are buried in the section B between Cypress and Oak ave.
I don't put the name of the area on, because the cemetery does't use the names at all. they just use the letters and numbers and thats what I get from Kelly when I ask for a location.
Kelly and I have been working together to get the Rose Section (D) back in shape. a lot of the stones there were very over grown, so one of the grounds men has made it his personal area to trim. Sometimes i don't get there for a couple of weeks and i have to scramble to get all the graves photoed and then try and get them in and send to you and a few others. Love all the work you have done in this one and didn't you do a lot of the work up at Hillside?
At any rate.
Have a great night.

I noticed the picture of Charles Beilby, are you related to the Beilby's? Charles is my cousin.

The IOOF Internation Order of Foresters owns Mountain View Cemetery. They have no Plots exclusively for members of the IOOF.
I didn't know that until I read a placque in the office...
